@evanalvarez8 I need to check out who Vegas has futures odds on to win the cup.  Wonder how much they’re considering the weather.

@eppy99 Maybe a tad, but Club World Cup was PSG vs. Chelsea at the end of the day, so it may not have had a huge impact. Unsure though since South America did perform really well! I'm excited to see!

Not sure what to do with this information, but there are four players with the first name Konstantinos on the Greek national soccer team.  Huh

We're still far from the start of the World Cup, but here are matchups I need to see....

Messi vs Lamine Yamal. (you all remember the picture of a young Messi holding baby Yamal for a charity calender)?  That would be super cool.

Spain vs Portugal (outside of France probably the best talent assembled for any nation)

Spain vs Brazil (Lamine Yamal vs Estevao)  The future stars not to mention the rest of the ridiculous talent on both squads.

The implosion of England.  You can always count on England to not figure out how to win with an equally incredible squad.  Seems like it's usually the managers fault and too many ego's to please.

The USA....lol.

I'd like to see Canada have a big upset and somehow make it to the quarters.

I'm not sure who to root from Africa, but there's always an incredible amount of talent dispersed among the nations.

I'm sure I'll additional takes after I study more teams and eventually see the pairings.  The world cup pairings event is like 10 NCAA selection show reveals in one.

@eppy99 i do think the heat will have "some" impact on euro teams but who knows to what extent.  the us is wild.  never before have we had so much talent.  honestly not even remotely close.  but if there isn't chemistry.  it doesn't complement.  it doesn't work.  will definitely be interesting.  i lost the draw for tix btw

@mcm666 is that the only way to get tickets without taking one from behind?

Yes the US does have talent but are starting to resemble England as they can’t figure out how to put the pieces together.  I just don’t have any faith in our team which sucks given the stage they’ll have.

I’m shedding no tears for Italy.  If they miss out on a third consecutive World Cup there could be violence in the streets.

……Portugal lost to Ireland 0-2 with Ronaldo getting a red card in the 61st minute.  Regardless with that talent they shouldn’t lose.  They at least should have had a goal by then.

What the hell is this?  They're dragging this into a 2 hour program and blowing the president by giving him an award for Peace.  This is disgusting.  Leave the politics out of this.  Sport is supposed to be our time to forget what ails the world.

Sir, this is FIFA we're talking about. Other than the IOC there is no sports organization more likely to get pegged by a politician.

I agree, but FIFA is one of the most corrupt sporting bodies in history. Slightly behind the CFP

Sports and politics have been intertwined going back at least 100 years.
