This will be the worst attended big ten home opener in my lifetime. I’m 40. Worse than any Crean year even in the first few years. The enthusiasm is at an all time low.
many factors go into this, #1 being IU football. Just really blows my mind though. I never thought I would be giving away tickets because I couldn’t sell them for 15 bucks online.

this is an absolute must win. Penn state is the 3rd worst team, we already lost to the 2nd worst. An absolute need to show out tonight to get some people excited about this team and some hope.

Read yesterday the PSU game was a sellout.
@hoosier-clarion Every game is a sell out. doesn't mean the attendance was at capacity. Id guess around 10k for that game. Horribly attended.
Sounded OK anyway on TV. They kept the picture dark in the upper deck.
Few sports are like the old days.
@openwheel I think we have 5 crowds that are near capacity, Nebraska, Iowa, Purdue, msu and wisky. Rest will have large gaps in open seats.

@hoosier-clarion we don’t make the tourney this year and will be the first time since I have been alive that they won’t sell out season tickets. Take that to the bank. We are very close and season tickets waitlist is next to empty.

I don’t think season ticket sales will fall too far below sell out levels. Heck, they can just increase the priority points you get for buying basketball tickets so you can improve your football ticket location like they had to do all those years to get football tickets sold. Man, it still feels surreal just to type that out loud.

@cavanagh IU has had more success on the gridiron in the last two years than IU hoops has had since ... forever. I agree ... a football school.
