@cavanagh I agree with your last point. While the ball movement was better early, some of our offensive struggles are due to the fact that teams have figured out how to guard us. And we aren't that tough to guard. Too many of our offensive 'weapons' are one-dimensional. Wilkerson is a good player, but the way he finishes at the rim makes him easy to guard. Late in the Minnesota game we kept throwing it to him on the cut, and it appeared Minnesota was actually letting the cut happen because he can't finish. I think it's gonna be a long year....
@curtdog tomorrow will tell us a lot. Good coaches have the squad ready to run through a wall. Let’s see what ya got DD
the major concern is that now there is tape for all the world to see....
cover the 3 pt line and make us play inside where we are weak and undersized
we can counter by getting to the rim and
1) be strong enough to put the f#*&ing ball thru the hoop
2) or at least make them foul (and then make the damn FT's)
3) if 1 or 2 don't work then throw back out for an open 3
additionally we can't keep getting killed on the glass.
rebounding is nothing more than boxing out and effort. we currently have little of each
we took way too many low % shots, didn't play smart and gifted a bad Minnesota team a W
we won't be world beaters but we have plenty enough talent to not lose games like this
we will see if DD has the coaching chops to straighten things out, hopefully soon.....
