What USC done had nothing to do with Dorn missing open shots. Everyone has off days shooting, hopefully it's just one game as it does make a big difference when he is on fire.Bailey will only flourish against teams that play poor defense or don't have a presence in the middle so it's the luck of the matchup as to whether he can be effective. Dorn was basically silenced against USC. Hopefully it's just a bad game. However there isn't enough of a sample size to say what he did the previous 4/5 games is actually who he is ... and not to mention the scouting reports will now include him which means they won't let him roam as freely. Good thing is with 3/4 scoring options it becomes harder to defend us .. if they all show up. Opposing teams D will start to crank up as the season moves on here and the reality of post season and conference tournaments start to near.. teams that need wins or teams turning it up a notch or two because they can smell the post season coming could also test our team and that's where the mid major talent could break in 2. We will see. Hopefully they have hardened enough to play through that and continue to get some much needed W's. I'm
@willray I would strongly guess as long as we're running the offense, it'll create good looks for Dorn (like it did against USC, who is one of the better 3 point defenses we'll face all year)... and he'll make a better chunk of them than he did against USC. Assuming that happens, that should start to open DeVries up a little more for some more decent looks. Hopefully all this starts happening tomorrow. Assembly Hall, outside the Iowa game, has been pretty kind to our shooters. We could use a really strong performance, and a statement win over another NCAA level team.

I didn't say it was anything to do with USC. I also said hopefully it was an off night.
@hoosiers94 He might need to land one or two of them this offseason though, to improve the team for next year. Finishing the year strong, making an NCAA, then hopefully having a little more NIL money and flexibility to land a couple NBA level guys, and the willingness and ability to do that... That's how it needs to go. Less than those things happen... not fire able, but flashing warning lights should start flickering.
I would agree. Landing even 1 would go a long way. 2 would be very encouraging
The math is simple for this team against quality competition: hit threes and there's a good chance of victory, have an off night and it's a likely loss. Live by the three, die by the three. Not a strategy that bodes well for consistency.I didn't say it was anything to do with USC. I also said hopefully it was an off night.
@gthomas Hit threes, don't commit stupid fouls, rebound the ball, stay focused.
Dont three of you mindlessly jog down court not paying any attention whatsoever to your two teammates desperately trying to inbound the ball. And please dont do it a second time not long after. Not much else to do except stay engaged in the game when you are, you know, in the game.
To be fair, May didn't inherit Knight players.@jhoban19 As of yet May hasn't gotten any closer to a Natty than Mike Davis. So while that might change, so far all we know is that he's a decent coach that we could have hired.
To be fair, May is coaching in the free transfer era

What was their 3pt % vs Wisky today?

you're and idiot ...
in the games we've won this year we have made 38% of our 3's averaging 11 made a game
in our 8 losses we average 29% of our 3's averaging 8 made per game 28% less made 3's per game and 9% poorer shooting percentage So yeah we love and die by them General rule ... always exceptions ... did they teach you that ...

was that English?
Hence the word "likely," which doesn't translate to "no chance." It was an unlikely win given the stats. What was their 3pt % vs Wisky today?
So is everyone else. Try again. To be fair, May didn't inherit Knight players.@jhoban19 As of yet May hasn't gotten any closer to a Natty than Mike Davis. So while that might change, so far all we know is that he's a decent coach that we could have hired.
