The good- Tucker is going to be one of the best players in the league. Lamar will come close to averaging 20 a game because him and tuck are basically our offense. Connerway isn’t a great shooter, but a scrapper and will want him playing as much as possible. 3 headed monster with those three.
Bad/ok- We have a bunch of guys that will give it there all, we just aren’t going to be as athletic as the IL’s Michigan Oregon etc. PU isn’t as athletic but their IQ and skill is way above ours.
Ugly-we have no size and are gonna get bullied inside, defense has to be firing on all cylinders disrupting and getting in passing lanes getting those Crean deflections. We aren’t deep at all and if one of the big three goes down the season is basically shot.
overall though if they can stay healthy we should be a tourney team around the 8/9seed and I’ll gladly take that this year.
Rebounding was abysmal.
$10M for an 8/9 seed? If that’s the best IU can do for the money, that’s sad. My god, Arch and Woody really did a number on people's expectations.
@gthomas who the hell did we spend that money on? Other than Tucker and Lamar no one should be close to a million. Connerway maybe 500-750k. the rest? Hell no. If we are paying Enright more than 50k that’s insane.
CDD inherited a destroyed program (zero usable staff and one player, a HS recruit). He had to build a whole program from scratch in 60 days. $10M doesn’t go as far starting from nothing.
An 8/9 seed would be good, that’s what UL was last year. That’s a foundation to build from in year 2 and become a top-20 team.
@tammany was his choice not to use anyone. I don’t give him any slack for that. Our former players will shine in other places. Was the coach not the players.
Also, Jordy would have been nice to keep.
@cavanagh If IU left NIL money on the table, it's not a serious program.
@gthomas I mean we have looked like inept program for decades. It would surprise you if they did? Not me!!
@cavanagh Those amazing former players we paid a fortune to miss the tourney.
@tammany we had the worst coach in college basketball history. I could have coached them to the tourney. And I’m not exaggerating.
I mean no program in the country would have hired him, but he went to IU so we did. And we gave him more money than anyone in the country. He had top top NIL money, we were ahead of the curve. Now just top 10-20ish. Not when woody was here we had all the cash he wanted. Blank checks. Disgusting.
Curious which former players are going to go shine elsewhere?
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

@hooky and I’m curious as to why Jordy would have been a good one to keep?
@hooky Mac daddy and Malik will be all conference players.
@ge-off I dunno the best three point shooter post knight teaching a team built to shoot the three. Just a thought….
