@drjb 11-9 right here!  If we stay healthy we are going to win games we didn't think we'd win, and obviously we will lose some games we shouldn't.  But all said and done, this team makes the tournament and goes 11-9 in CDD's first year.  Go Hoosiers!

What are your 10 other wins ?

I would like to know as well. First off we will likely not stay 100% healthy most teams never do for a full season it is very very rare. But I would love to know where these ten wins are coming from. Some seem to think beating Washington at home is like some easy game. They won at USC in case anyone missed that.

I was thinking about something random the other day, as my boring ass tends to do. And it's Christmas, so I'm in a sharing mood. Anyhow, since Knight, no one has brought more to the program than Crean ... and it's not even close. From the outhouse to the penthouse. Sure, he may not have been the guy to take IU to the "next level," but he was the perfect post-Dickhead hire.

Many don't look back fondly on the Crean era because of his last three or so years, but he brought Hoosier basketball back to prominence ... oh, and gave us the Kentucky game in the process.

I would vote, but 2-18 isn't an option.

Btw, Iowa is now ranked. That didn't take long. Who could have guessed BM would paying dividends from the get-go?

Anyhow, we already know what Dusty can do at the major college level, and we'll find out pretty damn soon what Ben's capable of. My guess? A lot more than Mr. Personality.

McCollum was the obvious hire once guys like Stevens and Otz said no.  But the Indiana administration screws up every basketball hire.  It's what we do.

I said 8-12.  Anything from 7-13 to 11-9 seems realistic.  Will be hard to get more than 1 win outside Assembly Hall.

I just keep working hard to not wonder why we took a Drake guy but not the Drake guy who did better in a single season than the other Drake guy did in five years. We took the the other Drake guy. Who admittedly, did far better than other coaches at Drake.

Fingers crossed that our pick will pay off.

To me though, seemed like Scott Dolson was so amazed by DeVries coaching, because he was comparing Devries organization and coaching to Mike Woodson's. Anyone would look like a superstar in that comparison. Felt like a gem was sitting out there though, which doesnt happen often happen in a search. Hey maybe we tried and he said no.

McCollum is from Iowa City. I expect he always wanted to coach there and Iowa was smart enough to hire him, unlike IU with Dusty May. This is why I still think Dolson is at best a mediocre AD- you don’t go 1/2 on the big coaching hires if you are good at your job. Cignetti makes a lot of inept people look competent. Let’s hope he keeps winning.

Everybody says Iowa is where he wanted to be. But I never heard about Indiana doing a full court press for him? So I am skeptical that he wouldn't have been a real possibility. Seemed like we 'talked'.

Anyway, Coach DeVries is our guy. Hope he gets it done here.

This team is terrible on the road and will eventually lose to the better teams with size at home.

I've always felt BM gave IU the stiff arm. I have no evidence to support this ... just a feeling.. In any case, in no world do I believe DD was Option #1.

Dolson struck gold on accident with Cig

he's not a top tier AD. He was brought up from the ranks due to attrition

he's ok. There are better options

By all accounts DeVries was always the #1 choice after the big fish all said no.  We had discussions with McCollum but he was the back up and likely knew that.  Both coaches are from Iowa and it was rumored DeVries was Iowa's first choice as well.  Iowa lucked out.

if he can somehow eek out a couple Q1 wins, not have ANY more bad losses, finish .500 or better in the B1G

and get into the tourney (no play in).  that should calm the natives.

then go and win a tourney game (or 2) it would be massive

that is a lot of if'n and as undisciplined as we seem so far....

there is plenty of bball to be played.  we shall see...
