I'll say 10-10 or 9-11. Nothing has really changed in my opinion. When IU hits shots they look good when they miss it's ugly as hell. The Minnesota loss sucked the air out of the room, so maybe 8-12 or 9-11.

I guess I was expecting a team more fundamentally sound

other than shooting a lot more 3's, it doesn't look that much different than last yr

These guys just don't have the talent or size to compete with the big boys. They can make up for some of it by hitting a lot of threes and running the offense at top efficiency, but that will only take them so far.

Let's see what happens in the next year or two. Basketball Cig isn't walking through Dolson's door any time soon.

we'll never see the equivalent of a bball cig.

we have enough size and talent to....

block out on the boards

maintain movement/cutting to get quality shots

not commit stupid fouls

not commit stupid to's

not jack up 30' 3 pt attempts

make a high % of free throws

play smart and hard for 40 minutes

etc....

and win the majority of the 50/50 games on the schedule

I'll admit I've only watched parts of the last few games since Minnesota but what I see is not encouraging

of course, I hope DD can figure it out soon, as it gets much more difficult from here on out

10-10.  We’ll beat some good teams at home.  And we’ll get a couple road games.

8-12. I dont see them winning any on the road. Too easily intimidated, if you can't win at Minny you  ain't winning anywhere.  NIT invite is most likely.

7-13.  I could see us lose possibly 8 in a row after Maryland

If the rankings (NCAA NET, KenPom, Bart Torvik) are examined, Indiana is an NCAA tourney team as the metrics for the Hoosiers are decent. The schedule is obviously going to become more demanding as IU rolls into the Big 10 season. Let's hope DeVries can maximize the talent base and the Hoosiers can eke out a winning conference season and make the NCAA tournament. My expectations for the team have fallen over these last few months and as it currently stands I'd be highly pleased if they could get into the tourney. As IU basketball fans we all recognize how far the basketball program has fallen over recent years. The Hoosiers are the model for a mediocre program making the Big Dance only twice over the last 9 years. In contrast,  Michigan State has been invited to participate in the NCAA tournament for 27 consecutive years. I understand the negativity on the board as I'm not happy with the play but I'll let the season play out instead of wallowing in misery for the next two months.

I see things a little differently.  You say you’d be “highly pleased” if they get in the tournament.  Why did we even bother hiring a new coach?   I’d be disappointed if we do worse than what MW did his first year.  No excuses.  This is the exact roster he chose.
