@hoosiers94 As long as we play competitive games against Illinois and Purdue... our NET will stay close to that 31 number even with 2 losses. Beat NW and Minny... and I would say we're getting pretty close to lock territory. Both MSU and OSU will be Quad 1 games, as well... If Wisconsin continues to play well, that could end up as a Quad 1 win for us eventually too.
A .500 conference record is no lock. Sure, the odds might be in IU's favor, but getting Notre Dame'd isn't off the table in that scenario. I'm telling ya, relying on NET is a dangerous game.
11-9 is the magic "No worries" number.

Its not, though. Conference record is irrelevant and not a factor. Unbalanced scheduling deems it pointless. Its all about who you have beaten and who have lost to.
If the metrics stay where they are, there just are not enough teams to jump over IU this year.
Just need to keep winning the games we're supposed to win, steal a win elsewhere whenever whenever we can, and avoid getting worked by better teams.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.
