We beat Purdue.

I'm good with DeVries. 😉

Actually, I do like the recruits. The types of players I like to see coming in. Coach can build this.

Well what do all you "armchair" coaches think after the PUke win? I don't see any replies. The fact that we ALL knew coming into this season DeVries was getting his type of players. Some turned him down, like a B1G type center but he did what he could do putting his roster together. On a lot of visits there was not only a team to meet but he didn't have all of his coaching stuff onboard yet. Players want to know who they are playing with and who is going to coach them.

Recruits are always young, always skinny most of the time time yet he is bring in 4-star recruits if stars are important to you. What is wrong with that? I visit other fan forums and for years I have never seen a fanbase that beats down coaches and players not even on campus yet like IU fans do. In some ways I am surprised IU even has IU basketball signed commitments.

There were no expectations for this team before the season started except good fundamental basketball. A team that hustled and busted their ass win or lose. From what I remember 99% of IU fans wanted a modern offense of shooting 3's and layups. I think I can say that has happened, at least a lot more than the past 4 years. Many, including myself, wanted Woodson as far away from Bloomington as possible. That happened.

If you don't want to follow these mid-major players that are busting their ass and a coaching staff that knows more basketball than you every thought about ... follow another team, maybe a local smaller school if there is one near you.

IU basketball fans are the biggest whiners win or lose.

I have been on IU forums since the Indy Star had forums in 1997? before Peegs started his forum.

Fire away I don't care ... what I have written is my opinion and forums are all about opinions.

Some might be asking what do I know? Have I coached before? Nothing to brag about in coaching but a couple of years at the Jr High volunteer level. What I do know is fans and coaches don't even come close to thinking alike. I know that because I grew up with a coach. Not to brag but to backup that statement, my dad coached high school basketball in Indiana for 27 years.

I think Saturday IU's surprises not only people on this forum but fans in general when they give UCLA their first home loss of this season. At worst they split their LA trip and head back home with a 1-1 LA record.

Lately there's more whining and bitching about whining and bitching toward players, than there is whining and bitching toward players. "you experts, you guys" Holy shit.

There's a lot of support for the future of this team on this forum.

Plenty of criticism calling some 'sunshine pumpers' too, which gets just as old. But holy shit, it's just a forum and random commenting. Not the game plan.
