@bigmike Clown’s gonna clown. You’ve witnessed firsthand how to completely destroy a once-powerful organization.

@bigmike The NCAA is a f***ing joke, so it's no surprise at all. Hopefully a decision is made before 2026.

@bucketgetter And now the NCAAT will likely expand to 72 or 76 teams. Call me crazy, but I think 64 was the perfect number.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we see 128 teams get invites in the next 5-10 years. Money is more important than the integrity of the game to these morons.

I thought 32 was good also. That's more than enough to include all the legitimately good teams and a handful of Cinderellas.

64 was perfect.  The best team is always in the field and upsets could happen.

They may make more money in the short-term by expanding it, but they need to be careful and not ruin it with too many teams, which could mean less money in the long-term.

IMO if they expand it much more they should eliminate the conference tournaments. This isn't the NBA. College basketball should be wrapped up by the end of March.

I know it will never happen. Too much money to be made.

The NCAA should let Oprah announce the expansion: "You get a bid, and you get a bid. Everyone gets a bid."

@bucketgetter Don't worry they would never cut back to 32. $$$$$ rules.

So that would be little more that expanding the First Four idiocy. If they're going to expand, go to 96 to keep the brackets balanced and symmetrical. And play the extra 32 teams' games on campus. Make those early games  about the players and the fans instead of TV and money.

If they are going to do that, why not take a page from Indiana's old school ways and have everyone play? According to Google, there are 363 d1 basketball teams. If my math is correct, that would take 9 games to crown a champion. Do away with conference tourney games and use regular season Champs. Could give byes to the top 30ish teams to make the brackets neater.

That would not be much crazier than having 96 teams...

@iunorth Maybe other teams grease the wheel with under the table....contributions?

While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
