Indiana is in complete control...it has been a very nice performance for the Hoosiers and one I think we all can breathe a nice sigh of relief to see.
Nice to see IU hold serve.
Onto Columbus.
I am an old curmudgeon of 60. What are the senior speeches gonna look like with guys who have been here one year?
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
Now I refer back to my thread about how much the Ohio st is going to matter from 3 weeks ago.
Good game for senior night. Played together, looked good.
Beat OSU!
Hoosiers roll Minnesota 77-47. That was the best IU has played in a long while. Really good defense, points in the paint and IU outrebounded the Gophers by 13. A complete performance and a blowout win in a game Lamar Wilkerson did not need to be Superman. There is a little bit of life as the Hoosiers head to Columbus to play fellow bubble team Ohio State.
OSU is thumping PSU, so they'll move to 11-8; I'm pretty confident they've punched their ticket. But this is most definitely massive for IU ... no doubt about it.Now I refer back to my thread about how much the Ohio st is going to matter from 3 weeks ago.

Missed the whole game. Checked score at halftime and still wasn't convinced. But nice job Hoosiers, now let's not coast in to Columbus, we will need every bit and more of the game we brought tonight.

@hoosiers94 It was a good call, for sure. I think its a play in game for Indiana, OSU might have a shot still if they lose.
@ams66 The IU team that played last night is a potential 2nd weekend of the NCAA tournament team. I think many of the posters on here that were lauding Minnesota, how good a job Medved has been doing despite their injuries, etc... were absolutely right. They're a solid team, and they're usually very difficult to play against because of their movement and physicality. IU dominated them in all facets of the game. So frustrating that that team doesn't show up more than it does.
CDD also had a great game plan coming in to really focus on getting Sam the ball on the block. Tucker eluded to it after the game...Minny was very thin depth wise, so they likely weren't going to be challenging as much at the rim, as maybe they normally would have. Little things like this are glimpses in to having a real, solid basketball coach... after the last 4 years.
But man... why can't he have them more dialed in to play how they did last night, more??
IU (finally) answered the bell last night ... and then some. If the Hoosiers can do so again on the road against an OSU team playing perhaps its best ball of the season, I'll be impressed.
It seems like we've been saying that the last 10 seasons, doesn't it? As you mentioned, at times IU looks like a S16 team. At other times, not even close to NCAAT caliber.@ams66 The IU team that played last night is a potential 2nd weekend of the NCAA tournament team. @gthomas I guess Woodson did have some games where they looked Sweet 16 level, especially TJD/JHS year. Archie... even the win at MSU, and some of the Romeo team wins... it never felt like some of the moments, stretches, games that this team has shown... to me anyways.
But for sure, consistently playing top end B10 and S16 level basketball... its been since the mid 90s. It don't make no sense!
