I know CDD had to put this team together on the fly but I’m wondering if he underestimated what he would need to compete in the B10. This team looks like he was thinking he was still at Drake. This looks like the JV vs the varsity. It is hard for this team to compete over a whole game with this limited talent. Playing hard only gets you so far. It is hard to watch when you know the outcome.

IMHO, this team was not built with the B10 and its style of play in mind.

that's our problem... can never take a chance that would rock the apple cart. Anyone who knows basketball can see he's not going to get it done. And I don't buy the excuse no one will come Coach us if they're fired after one year. None that I want then .. not up to the challenge. Not good enough to win. Then I don't want them. And with the buyouts who wouldn't. No Tom Izzo isn't coming here etc. but there has to be someone better than this shit show.

he doesn't know what he's doing. Did he watch any game tape of the conference or hell did he ever watch a big ten game on tv in his life. Or an sec game or an acc game. This feels like 16 years ago when IU football sucked, IU basketball sucked, and the Pacers sucked but the Colts went to the Super Bowl because of one man.

To be honest I had the same thought after the Nebraska game. I am not a coach but I have trouble believing that a good D1 coach can watch P4 basketball (surely he does?) and not have developed a pretty good idea of what kind of players it would take to compete. Maybe he went too far recruiting for "culture fit" and not enough actual talent? Maybe he just didn't have time/money/appeal to get anyone better?
The good news is that if he is a good coach he can correct his roster construction.
What is more immediately concerning is why can we play 30 minutes of pretty competitive ball and then completely collapse, blowing a comfortable lead or allowing a close game to get completely away from us in the other 10 minutes? We've shown we can play at this level but we are not mentally tough enough to do it for 40 minutes.
