My prediction: Many will end up disliking this team. I'm already there. It's basically "hit threes or we're f***ed."
You’re a hot-take machine.
(Edit: should say you post like one, just so it’s not personal. Because it’s not.)
Welp coaching hot board?
Worst part about tonight…book is out for the rest of the conference. Extend on Iu with physical perimeter defense and they have no answer. Ball and player movement stops. Can’t get good 3 point looks consistently. Can’t finish consistently at the rim. What the hell are teams like Michigan and MSU gonna do to IU? Damn.
Louisville will own us.. painful it will be
Ok. I’m done for the night. Maybe some sleep will give me some perspective. How we lost though is so disappointing. Alarming even. It’s not like losing to a good talented team, or having a lesser team just get hot and go off on you. That was a grinder, and Minnesota just looked like the better, more physical team. That’s scary.
Not shocked, just disappointed. Don’t feel like ranting and raving about it…
and that's the thing
it's really not even upsetting anymore.....just acceptance
(like pu fans for football)
Took my whole family to the game tonight - such a disappointment (yet again in Williams Arena).
couple of quick thoughts:
I cannot believe Tucker scored that many points at WVU. He wasn’t able to do much tonight and to me, was the weakest link. I don’t see how he’s going to to be productive in the B1G. I hope I am wrong, but he has to prove it.
Tayton is by the far the best offensive player - he does so much right. He sat too long in the second half with his third foul.
Make no mistake, this is not a good U of M team. They played us tough, but there is a reason they entered .500 and barely beat some mediocre teams at home
Alexis showed some really nice offensive moves and awareness. I know he’s still a bit raw, but I like him. He competes on both ends, has raw talent and seems coach able.
With some better scorers, I like where this offense could be in the future.
@cg-paul Not a hot take machine ... just an asshole who's pissed that this program has torpedoed because of inepitude. I think DeVries will do fine, but we won't see any new hardware in the AH lobby any time soon.
Hope IU hits on a coach in 2029.
You didn’t see Cignetti lose to a bottom dweller in his first season.
In days of yore, I would almost expect that IU would bounce back in a big way after an inexplicable early season loss like this and shock the world against Louisville. Those days have rarely felt more ancient than they do right now …
@gthomas Beyond disappointed in CDD….never made any type of adjustments on defense….thought we might throw a zone on them since they don’t shoot it very well….instead we played man the whole game and got beat to the basket and fouled. Never changed anything to make a 4-4 undermanned team have to think.
Minnesota just made normal, bog standard, plays. We couldnt.
Ill be happy to live and die by the 3 now, after seeing what else we dont have... Gun it I guess. From deep.
Tired of Enright getting wide open from 8 feet away and not taking the simple bank shot. And once they settled back into a zone and left the perimeter open, DeVries still didnt look for his shot. He needs to be the man.
Well, at least we will play with some hustle against Louisville.
I think the Jekyll version of Dolson hired Cig, while Hyde tabbed DD.
@jj_mcclure No chance….if we keep it within 20 I will be shocked. At least losing to a top 10 isn’t as embarrassing as what we just watched.
