@pryght He had nice looking shot mechanics... I didn't realize he was 39% from three! Cool.
Strength is going to be a big issue with this kid, practice player this year at best. He does have nice footwork and he looks to pass it well as most foreign bigs do.
@hurryinghoosiers I can't pretend to have seen multiple full games from Acimovic so I won't try to post as if I am an expert on his game BUT based on the roster at hand and the need for a legitimate big man, I think there is a very reasonable chance he ends up playing decent minutes. Certainly more than someone like Dallas James did last season.
I think he projects as a third big this season that will play more in some matchups than others, an insurance policy in case either Alexis or Reed Bailey suffers an injury or (as will be the case) there is foul trouble. At minimum, I think a Langdon Hatton role is in line this season.
Moving forward, he gives IU another player with multiple years of eligibility. For next season, as of now, IU would have the following:
Jasai Miles, Jason Drake, Nick Dorn, Josh Harris, Trent Sisley, Aleksa Ristic, Andrej Acimovic. That's seven players and six openings. Say that one of those guys leaves via the portal and you'd have six returning with seven openings...maybe a four-man high school class plus one international player and two portal additions?
Highlights of Acimovic...keep in mind, these are highlights and they will only show the good stuff. Also important to note, he played for a really good U19 league so these are not total scrubs he is going against.
I'm working on a "fit" piece that will hopefully be ready later today.
He has the potential to be a really good player at Indiana.

Go IU!
Yeah, it was mentioned in the last paragraph of Sammy Jacobs's article.
Averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the U19 ABA League, the top league in the Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia region… during competition in the second Bosnian division, a senior level league, he posted 17.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game… shot 65.3% from the floor and 39.0% from the 3-point line… member of the U16 and U18 Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team.
Drew Adams connections getting it done on the international side
@satisfiedappetite well if they are his connections they will surely be awful.
@tammany Makes me wonder if the staff was secretly hoping Goode would get denied. This had to be in the works for a while now.
@bucketgetter That is definitely an interesting question. Logic leads me in the direction that they probably see this kid as developmental right now. And were o.k. with waiting and not getting him, if Goode got a fifth year. Obviously its possible they found him, stumbled upon him, however it came to be... after they learned about the Goode ruling. But I find that unlikely. And if its true they were in talks with him before knowing about Goode's ruling... and if he were an obvious impactful, B10 main rotation level big... its unlikely IU would have been the only suitor, and that he'd be o.k. waiting on the Goode ruling himself.
@iunorth I definitely didn’t have any issues with Goode coming back for several reasons but on paper Goode’s best skill in the court should not be lacking like it has been.
@cavanagh Wasn't Shaq 7'3" on Blue Chips? I think Nover was 6'11".
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
