The style of play though looked good to me.

I only had the data that was mentioned so had no idea Wilkerson was 0 for 14.
I didn't misrepresent the stats that were given. Was just unaware that it just one player that made a lot of attempts without hitting one

At at 0-14 he'd be like one of my buddies, a true deep gunner who never met a shot he didn't like. A black hole, ball goes in and never comes out. (Despite that, a decent player, as he plays dee well. And razz him enough eventually he starts dishing.)
What a wierd take. I think all the shots count, regardless of which player shoots. You can't pick and choose.

My point that you missed was how bad the rest of the team as a whole shot from outside, which apparently was mainly due to Wilkerson going 3 for 13.
All shots count but sisley's shots don't count for other players or vice versa
@thehoosierhuddle CDD's post game comments were comforting about Wilkerson. Basically said I'm glad he got a bad shooting night out in an exhibition, because he's such a good shooter, he'll bounce back and be like 18-20. Can't wait to see someone take 20 3s in a game!

Conerway +43 in 21 minutes? I don’t really like that stat, especially in college BB. The groupings that were out there in those 21 minutes must have looked great against the units they were playing against.
it’s tough to jump to any conclusions, as it’s a team game, but the rest of the minutes saw our units playing pretty even against their lineups.
@gerdis +/- is a good stat IF there is an adequate sample size. For instance, I think it could useful, with context, right around January 1 for players that play 20+ minutes per game each night. Of course, none of the numbers or stats from last night mean anything at all and the sample size on any of them is too small to mean anything but I thought +43 was at least worth pointing out. Most importantly, it backs up my excitement when IU landed Conerway and how good I thought he could be so that means the +43 is a very legitimate bullet point to back me up! (that was a joke...)
Was told the 3 pt shooting was piss poor. Is that accurate?
In my opinion no way to know from that game. I don’t think we’ll know until we start playing a handful of games in November.
This trip is about getting more practices (we are allowed 10 more on a trip like this), installing CDD’s systems, and team chemistry. This is all practice and development for a team of all new guys who have never played together.
If people want to read into these very early stage games, fine, it’s a free country. Just doesn’t make sense to me and probably CDD. I doubt we shoot or play too well tonight either — brand new team vs a team that has been together for years. The key is if we are improving and it will take time to know.
