The same "starting five" is back in to begin the second half.
Indy Star update
IU 61, Bayamon 23, 5:29 left 3Q: Bayamon hasn't scored since well before halftime, as Indiana's sheer depth is driving the hosts out of this game.
Bailey has looked really, really good offensively. Guard-level handle, confidence in the open floor, great finishing and good instincts following shots at the rim. Has cleaned up some trash in addition to looking like a weapon on the break.
IU is pushing the lead further out to begin the second half. Mike Pegram notes that Reed Bailey is excelling in transition as a ball handler and creator for others after getting a rebound. Trent Sisley with a tip-dunk and multiple instances of IU hunting three-point shots in transition.
IU outscores Bayamon 25-10 in the third quarter...Trent Sisley leads the team with 14 points and there are four players in double-figures.
The opponent for the games on Saturday and Monday, a professional team from Serbia with a good track record, should provide a much stiffer test. Walk-ons played some in the third and are in for the fourth quarter.
We won big?! I need to check prices on cool B1G Ten title merch.
Still, better than the alternative. It's nice to feel excited about a new regime instead of cautious.
IU cruises to a 98-47 victory. Trent Sisley played nearly 24 minutes (most on the team) and led the Hoosiers with 21 points on 9-12 shooting (3-4 from 3). He also had three rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Other IU players in double-figures: Josh Harris with 13, Lamar Wilkerson with 12, Sam Alexis and Reed Bailey with 10. Both Alexis and Harris had 10 rebounds. Tucker DeVries had 9 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in just 19 minutes of action. Tayton Conerway led the team with a ridiculous +43 in 21 minutes. These stats come courtesy of Trevor Andershock, thank you to Trevor and peegs.com!
As a team, IU attempted 34 three-pointers (nine makes) and had 29 assists on 41 made baskets. Per Jeff Rabjohns, IU did a nice job of moving the ball and hunting three-pointers despite an obvious size and athleticism advantage. They could have driven the ball at will but chose to run offense and work to get good looks from the perimeter.
We'll have video highlights from Jeff Rabjohns after he makes them available and press conference video from Darian DeVries. Look for an article recapping the game (with some video and quotes) tomorrow morning and then we'll turn the page to Saturday's game against Mega Superbet.
So without sisley, the team was 6 of 30 from 3?
Hopefully just a bad night
What a wierd take. I think all the shots count, regardless of which player shoots. You can't pick and choose.
From the sounds of it, they may be trying to adopt the Pacers style of pace on offense/transition. The Hurryin’ Hoosiers are back Baby!!!

@hurryinghoosiers If you take out Wilkerson they were 9/20 from 3. You can't pick and choose whose stats to count.
