@evanalvarez8 Shows that Wilkerson is the only really legit B1G player on the roster.

Couple more thoughts.

27th in Offensive Efficiency with our roster implies that CDDs system works decently.

7th in 2P% is surprising, should have been taking more of them I guess?

Good to see FT% back up there. Probably the reason we didn't lose several more games. We foul too much though, especially our starters, which isn't a listed metric.

Absolutely! The "elite" snipers can't crack the top 150 and at 34.6% are 10th in the Big 10. Other than Wilkerson and Dorn, when he was on his hot streak, there's not one other player on the roster that is a proficient 3 point shooter.

Most high volume three point shooting teams are well down the list from the top percentage teams. Like 40-50th or something. Which makes sense.

Not 150th ... And one of TD's brick airballs only counts as 1 miss, but if the metric tracked 'total distance' of misses, we would lead the country. Between him and Dorn as the worst offenders.

Saw some analytics when DeVries was hired and they said his teams shot volume but not great percentage. 🙁

Middle of the pack in 3pt FG% and still top 10% of Offensive Efficiency seems counterintuitive.

The defensive efficiency numbers have surprised me all year.

The impact of 3 pt shooting  cannot be guaged on percentage alone. Its a combination of percentage and volume. With volume being the more important

@scam-likely We're 23d on that metric, according to

I guess I should've rooted for more of those early season 27 footers, all season, if the alternative was giving it to Bailey.

I'd like to know the offensive efficiency rating against teams with a pulse.

Not attempted, use makes per game. Making them matters... shooting them doesn't.

The best metric is a simple formula. (((3PM * 3) - (misses *0.71)) / average team possessions) *69.8..

negative 0.71 is the average value of a missed 3, 69.8 is (or was) average possessions in NCAA b-ball..

It considers both volume and percentage and is pace neutral..

The gist, a 33% shooter making 3 per game, is far more impactful than a 50% shooter making 1 per game.

@scam-likely Thanks -- but even more simplistically, we're pretty high on attempts, and very mid on percentage made. That's going to limit the numerator in your formula. Or so it seems to me...

Being mid in percentage isn't so bad if you are taking a lot of them.

Owning 50% of three houses is better than owning 100% of one--if the houses are the same value.
