@hoosiers94 you’re miserable. I list concerns almost daily. For anyone to only accept the bad, from a first year coach that has 10 wins before January, top 30 KenPom team, top 20 KenPom defensive efficiency team…must be a miserable experience following sports for you.
It’s NOT all sunshine. I reference the cloudy stuff all the time. But there are rays of sun to enjoy too. Sucks for you that acknowledging that on a random message board is so difficult for you.
@gthomas Anyone who’s followed your schtick on here ain’t gonna disagree with me hoss…
Thank you for reminding me it's 1992 by using the word "hoss."Anyone who’s followed your schtick on here ain’t gonna disagree with me hoss…
I highly recommend getting your sarcasm meter checked; it seems to he malfunctioning. If I'd known you were such a delicate little flower, I would have posted about rainbows and unicorns.
@gthomas Yeah, ok. Obviously, I picked up on your brilliant sarcasm. You’re just pissy that somebody didn’t feel like tolerating it or giving you an atta-boy for it today…

doesn't suck at all for me.
you're all knowing righteousness is the problem. You have a real hard time respecting opinions you don't agree with
you're miserable See I can resort to it to
you list concerns only to double back and negate them by hedging your comments with support .. contradicting all previous
@hoosiers94 what point did I unknowingly make in that previous post?
I nearly always post varying levels of facts, opinions, evidence, from both sides of most issues. Me listing out some factual numbers like wins, KenPom metrics, does not negate that we need someone like Hansberry, and should have one… that the team is inconsistent with its focus and energy…if we weren’t inconsistent, I’ve seen plenty now from DeVries system and philosophies to have the opinion that we’d probably be 12-1 or 13-0, with this flawed roster, and top 15 in most metrics.
To me that’s almost as frustrating and disappointing as the losses. Because coaches can coach out inconsistencies. But it’s also a source of optimism. DeVries obviously knows how to coach the game of basketball. He’s chosen a style, on both ends, for his IU program, that’s fun to watch, AND has been effective for long stretches despite having a somewhat limited and flawed roster. Saying those things don’t negate the concerns.
Only seeing…or maybe only choosing to post the negative stuff is unfortunate, to me. If you actually know the game well, you’re not showing it on this board.
I too am tired of the posts of people pretending they didn't know IU even had a basketball team. Of course everyone is pumped at the success of football. It's been a fantastic run, but no need to be disrespectful of IU basketball with snarky comments. Why not be supportive of both?! They each represent the same university we all cheer for.
Hoosiers can shut up a lot of people if they come out and win by 30. Kick some ass play like MI or PU. They lose this game it’s gonna get much worse. This is a must win game.
@cavanagh I don’t think they need to win by 30. They’re not as good as Michigan or Purdue. But a loss would not be good, I agree.
But if they play with energy all/most of the game, pop the ball around like they do when they’re playing well, play solid defense like they often do…and win fairly comfortably…that’s a positive result.
So you've resorted to calling me, a person you don't know, an ass hole because I bailed on a shitty program? It's keyboard incels like you who keep people away from message boards.
@iunorth don’t need to win by 30 but they gotta win comfortably. The hall will be half full. Energy will be low. They got to bring it. A loss is crippling.

This used to be posted regularly on the football board, with the teams reversed of course.
@cavanagh This year, I don't care if the wins come by 1 point or 50 no matter who they play or where. The talent just doesn't match up with Power conference talent but they'd be a great mid-major team that could be a tourney cinderella team. I think it might show how good of coach they landed if if he can get them to the tournament from the BIG 10 though I feel they don't make it. Just don't see many if any road wins coming at all. I like the style he is coaching and how quick they seem to have installed a culture. Hope he does a better job in next years xfer portal.
@sig my view is he royally screwed up in recruiting in the off season. I don’t give him any passes he had plenty of money and opportunities to get better talent. He chose this talent. If they don’t make the tourney I’ll be pissed. If they do I’ll be impressed. If they make it without being on the bubble (9 seed or above) I’ll think we got a good coach and eat crow . More than half the job is talent evaluation. This year will show if he is good or bad at that.
