I'll miss those guys after the years I've invested in them.
j/k ... Thanks for choosing to be Hoosiers!
@openwheel Senior night doesn't hit the same, but still deserved.
@thehoosierhuddle I was just thinking about posting something lamenting the lost significance of basketball Senior Night. I used to look forward to watching clips of the senior night speeches but I now couldn’t care less and don’t feel a loss when these players move on. I am sure much of it has to do with the teams’ lack of success over the last couple decades and obviously the transfer portal. It’s also probably a bit hypocritical given my avid appreciation for the recent senior football players - most of which were transfer players.
Still, I will still cheer for the bball players at the games (and won’t boo) and do appreciate whoever puts on the IU jersey and makes an effort. I will leave my coaching/program bitching to website forums.
@iugrad84 I think with football two things helped:
1) Winning
2) The media gets way more access and their stories are shared and told more. I think that helps close connection to the fan base
@thehoosierhuddle valid points and you’re definitely correct that all the media stories on the fball team/players helped me forge a better connection

Do you know the "why" for #2?? Is it at Doorknob's direction, or just left-over inertia from the Woody years? No idea why?
@mushroomgod My guess is that there are just a lot more players involved. Only so many stories you can write about the 5-10 guys who are recognized as being on the basketball team.
