It seems St John’s was worse! 0-24 on field goals in the 2nd half against UConn and a stretch in the first half where they missed 10 shots I think? 20% fg for the game, only scored 40 for the game ……and that from a 15th ranked team and a hall of fame coach
Ohio State choked tonight. Iowa went on a crazy run to end the first half and OSU hasn't done any better so far in the second half.
14-2 OSU at the 15 min mark and the halftime score was 37-23 Iowa. 35-9 Iowa run in the last 15 minutes.

Huge win for Iowa to essentially lock up a bid if they can beat PSU this weekend. Their last two games are against Michigan and Nebraska, so getting some breathing room now was critical.Ohio State choked tonight. McCollum is exactly who I thought he was. Pretty damn good job in Season 1 with a bottom half (maybe bottom third) B1G NIL this season. Losing Stirtz will hurt, but if he gets a bump in NIL I'm quite confident the roster will be stronger top to bottom.
THIS is what I was looking for from IU's coach: upward trajectory. Not a huge ask. Iowa is going to be a problem in the coming years.
McCollum sucks! (I really wanted him for Indiana. But I am going to work on getting over it. And... May sucks!)

With an average NIL chest, I think he can get them back to what they were in those Davis years of the 80/90s.

I'm not sure if Iowa is on an upward trajectory or if they had a really favorable schedule all in a row. They've lost 3 of 5, but before that, won 6 in a row, starting with their win over us and we were the best team they played in that stretch.
I think Iowa will be a pain in the ass to play against in the future, but stylistically, I think they'll struggle to have the players to be in the top tier of the conference.

I don't think they're bottom 3rd. The numbers in articles about 1.5 are typically pre-hire. For 1, that ignores rev share which is at least 3 million for BB. its also been said in trilly chat that they did bump up nil as well (and were likely low-balling Fran to push him out the door faster).
They probably had 4.5 minimum and likely 5+ million total this year, easy if not more. Stirtz may have given a discount but he's definitely not playing for free and the rest of the roster isn't either.
Over his career, BM has adjusted to his rosters; he's not a one-strategy pony. And winning will attract players. It won't be long before he's considered a Top 10 coach in the country; I have little doubt about that.I think Iowa will be a pain in the ass to play against in the future, but stylistically, I think they'll struggle to have the players to be in the top tier of the conference.

I think it's probable that with McCollum's system, he won't need the top tier players to field a top tier team. But I don't claim to know much.
It would take us a full game to match that!@busdrivere ….crazy….they went 17:37 in the 2nd half without a FG!
@unclemark I thought they made OSU look slow the way most teams make us look slow.
@hooky Everything being equal (NIL, most notably), I'd rather have BM than May for the next 10 years. It's tough to compare them now since Michigan has $800M NIL, but I genuinely believe McCollum is a generational coach ... and much of my pissyness comes from IU not landing him. I won't argue with anyone who says I should "get over it." They're right.
@gthomas If the rosters of IU and Iowa were compared at the start of the season, the majority would say the Indiana roster was superior. It hasn't worked that way on the court and Iowa has performed much better than the Hoosiers. McCollum has done a fine job coaching in his year one.
