Enjoy watching this team. Their offense is sound and it's fun to watch them move the ball. Still think CDD made a judgement error in not getting more post help. Miles doesn't seem to be the willing passer that the rest of the team is, but does seem to have a nose for the ball. Gonna be a continual battle of what we give up inside to teams, vs being able to outscore them with 3s and FTs. Nice that a down night on FTs is 70% for this team.
PS, forgot to mention, but we had EIGHT guys make 3s! Doubt that's ever happened before. I was hoping one of the walk-ons would sink one at the end. Did get a nice open bucket for one of them.
@kkott There was no postgame note on if the 8 were a record. If I have some time, I'll see what I can find.
@thehoosierhuddle I gotta think it is, but will be interesting to see. Also interesting to see if they can break it this season. Ristic looked like a good shooter, but we got 3s from Bailey and Enright last night and those won't be every game occurences.
So fun to watch. Damn good not to see the flawless weave just beyond the 3 point line. Offense isn't RMK motion but lots of passing, screening and movement creating good shot opportunities. Dorn is gonna be a big +. Expect he'll help slow down penetration into the post. Harris will help create a nice rotation into this fast paced team. I'm sure there's nights they'll get beat by 20. But not because of energy or effort.
@thehoosierhuddle Wow, I tried googling it and found a game under Woody where 7 guys made a 3, so maybe we've had 8 before. Funny reading the list of names of the guys who made them: Cupps, Leal, Galloway, Banks, Reanu, ... not sure who else, maybe a Miller Kopp sighting? This team would tear that one up in a 3 pt contest. Said it was the most of CMW's tenure at the time (dec '23) with 12, so they've already bested that twice!
After leading the team in scoring last night...Lamar Wilkerson kept on working:
This is a team that is really easy to root for.
@tjinman1987 Wilkerson has surprised me with his D too. Dude works at both ends.
