Burton is trying to do too much out there. I see him trying to ball-hog a lot! He needs to slow down and maybe be more of a pass-first player! I know it is exhibition practice, but he needs to realize he isn’t at Notre Dame anymore!
Yigi hurt?
@hoosier-clarion he’s not eligible to play for Team USA in this tournament since he’s Turkish

Looked, and felt, like an AAU early pool play game. Hopefully some of the other nations have teams more capable of pushing us. But its nice to see all the effective length. Can't wait to see how the frosh acclimate to high major competition.
@iunorth I think Argentina may be the best team we will face, but that's not until the knock out stage

So are we final four bound or not? I only saw the score but I know usually at least last summer after these games the good feel vibes are very very high.
@arioznahoosier4554 Thus far, the teams we played last summer are like The 92 Dream Team compared to the team we faced yesterday. No matter how the games go, the added practice time, and the team bonding that will come from traveling to a different country, will make it all valuable. From a pure basketball perspective, though...Its already obvious this years team has more depth of talent, and more overall length. Which are two very important, and big improvements.
@arioznahoosier4554 Who knows? I put little stock into results and more into the process. Is IU getting better at the little things they can control, getting some reps for youngsters. Heck, Samet isn't playing so it's not the full squad.
Just get better, stay healthy and grow as a team

Hopefully they are bonding over some good meals.. Peru is maybe my favorite country for food. Pollo al a Brasa, Lomo Saltado, Fried Calamari, Ceviche. Then who could pass on the Anticuchos (marinated and grilled beef heart on a skewer) as an appetizer or street food.
Gonna try to watch the Hoosiers play the Virgin Islands this evening. VI handled Peru 93-73 so IU should be facing some stronger competition based on comparative scores.
No Tim Duncan level player on the Virgin Islands squad I am assuming. I didn't know where he was from. Saw it mentioned.
Looking forward to playing Argentina. But need to take care of 'bidness first.
@openwheel Yes, Argentina appears to be the major competition. The 3 IU freshmen appear to be players that could help this season.
