Here's the issue, imo: He's not a bad enough coach to get the ax quickly ... but he's not good enough to move the program forward. My fear is that the admin will adhere to a "he's better than Archie and Woody" mindset. If he goes 20-12 every season and sneaks into the NCAAT, he could be here for a while. Ugh.

I will not be shocked if he leaves after this season. I doubt he can handle heat he seems soft and weak and he is really not very likeable he is just boring and bland. How many days til football season?

He may get his three seasons because that is what IU does but we all know how this will end. Frankly its hard to even really care much anymore people are already counting down the days to the football season.

I don't know. Woodson was essentially that and had powerful ppl behind him and was a legendary alumni and Dolson wanted to push him out after 3. I don't think somebody without any ties are major backers is going to be allowed to just 'coast' for too long.

It pains me to say, but in the current landscape, the ROI in basketball does not warrant putting much money into that sport. Football drives everything.

Yeah, supposedly not 'pay for play', that is not allowed, but Cig let that cat out of the bag his first week or two on the job where he said 'you just rank the players and decide who gets what' ... which is pay for play other than semantics.

I think DD is solid coach. This team is just overmatched physically in the Big 10. they wear down as games and now the season moves forward. Michigan looked like they had a size and physical advantage at every position. IMO, Wilkerson and Devries can start for most all NCAA power conference teams. For IU they are expected to carry them as go to guys. IMO, they run a system and execute and even dominate when they play equal or less talented teams (mostly mid-majors). Against power conference teams they struggle to get open shots and even get open off the ball and their defensive intensity is just overmatched by superior athletes. This team is built to dominate a mid major conference. If DD doesn't upgrade the recruiting then he won't last long. I see HS guard commits but still nothing on the bigman front other than Acemovic.

You can be a solid coach but if you cannot put a roster together that is needed in big ten play it really does not matter. I knew the day the portal ended this roster would not cut it in the big ten. Most all the good teams have 7 footers and he thought a guy like his kid or Bailey would be able to guard them? Give me a break. There is not much coming back so unless the lightbulb goes on in his head and he kills the portal next year will be rough again.
The way TD has played this year he isn't starting at many top level teams. He's been a disappointment and has gotten worse as the season has gone on
@hoosiers94 I agree 100% TD is a complete disappointment in my opinion, nothing like I expected from the fanfare saying he was a dead eye shooter and all American type player. He's not even close to either of those and he's slow as molasses.

They had him ranked like a top 30 portal ranking which is a massive miss from those who do rankings. The only legit high level player we got is wilkerson
