I really cannot figure out how a guy who was as great a player as Woodson was could be "lazy" and "inept" as a coach but it's sure looking like that was not only the appearance but also the reality. Mind-boggling.

Yeah, I think his age is a big factor. I get it, being on Medicare and all. I remember when I was working and couldn't wait to retire and do all the stuff around the house. Now that I'm retired, it's a whole different ball game. Gotta take it easy and not overdo it, or my back will kill me. I take it slow and take lots of breaks now.

I had to get a job after I retired to avoid my wife ruining my retirement.

@cavanagh this is correct. I suspect those NDAs expire after all the checks clear. And I don't think Dane will be the only one to share thoughts.
Dane should've stayed quiet while he was still on the staff. He screwed up.

A lot of people wrote him off as a kook wacko because the Woodson camp implied that he watched Fox News.
@ams66 Not because he watched Fox News but because he was talking to the players about it and they were complaining. No idea if that’s true but that was the complaint
So Dane is an assistant for 10 years under one of the great CBB coaches… then he comes to Indiana and in year one there are supposedly all these issues with him? That’s odd.
Few will ever know the exact facts, but I bet the problem was mostly Woody.
I wonder why Fife decided to get out of the business? Anybody know him or his circle, to speak on that?
@openwheel it's posted above. Nobody wants to hire a guy that was running his mouth about the head coach. Regardless of what Dane didn't like about the head coach, you don't talk while you are employed. Terrible decision.
