@bigmike Yeah, so weird to be attacking one of our own. Cav better be happy Connor is playing, because it's out of necessity and Connerway is probably going to be in foul trouble more than once, and any team needs a backup PG and at the moment, we have no one behind him. Plus, he's a guy that's going to hustle, defend and get under other teams skin. Not his fault we're short on depth and he's been thrust into starting. Anxious for Dorn to return as I think he'll get the starting spot and Connor will fall back to backing up Connerway and running the 2nd team when he's out. Probably 12-15 minutes a game. And, I'm an old guy, but if that was his Mom, I won't mind seeing her at more games!
For someone who claims to be so apathetic towards iU basketball you sure seem to be getting upset and irritated very easily and prematurely. Dang calm down a bit and let the season play out geez
@hoosierific I like his posts, honestly. Forces those of us that care to do it, to engage in IU basketball analysis, and argue his points.
'Connor has no business playing' is one of his latest lightning rod statements, that gets people engaged and talking IU hoops. I don't personally like attacking current players, like he seems comfortable doing. But... they are getting paid handsomely, to do something 99% of us would have paid good money to do. The days of solely playing for the name on the front of the jersey are over. And with the NIL paychecks... comes a different form of scrutiny.
As for Connor... Cav has never valued what guys like Connor bring to a team. And recently, we've relied too heavily on guys like him, and Leal, to actually lead and produce impactful stats. But hopefully as this year progresses, and we get more healthy, Connor's true value will become very evident, and he'll become a crowd favorite.
'Connor has no business starting, and playing big minutes, on a high level P4 team'... that's much closer to accurate. Probably still unnecessary to type out on a message board... but, again... he's making more money this year than most of us will ever make in a year, AND he gets to play for IU, and he's a college kid...
