I think I ended up going roughly 240 out of 250, most of them at or behind the 3 point line.

Is that you, Steph?

@cavanagh Sisley, I guess I could see, but he's a freshman, so you risk blowing his confidence. Alexsis? Can't do it because then we have no depth behind him and both he and Bailey have been foul prone so far. Listened to a good IN podcast (jonathon Alden?) and he had Ant Wright on. They were talking about what CDD is trying to do, and they said they're trying to maximize perimeter pressure and be disruptive to offset our lack of interior size. Bear in mind, we're not struggling and are blowing teams out. See why he might be playing? Relax and let it work itself out.

@gthomas As IUN said, most people don't realize how good a shooters these guys are in practice. I'm pretty certain Steph has had better runs than that. He made 105 straight 3s in practice once, and I think there's video of it. There was a guy who played for the Hornets (good shooter out of ND?) and I seem to remember him saying he'd made over 200 straight 3s. If Cav is a better shooter than Conner, he could've been playing small college ball somewhere.

@cavanagh   I hope we get healthy enough to have him come off the bench.  he is a poor man's Galloway.

@kkott Ha ha... Steph Curry is now in the conversation!  Since I can see how hard it would be for someone to distinguish between Steph, and myself... When he rips off 100 in a row, its from 25 feet, in a more intense workout environment.  And then, the next night, he scores 46 on the Spurs.  Annnd... he's possible the best shooter to ever walk the planet.  As you progress up the HS to College to Pro to All time great ladder, there's a level of awe that comes when you watch the people above you.  I watched Steve Alford shoot before when I was living in Iowa City... awe struck.  I also watched Jordan Hulls shoot around for 20 minutes or so one weekend in Bloomington... awe struck.  And then really any NBA guard...let alone Curry.  It just looks different.  And you know that while you technically might be able to hit a similar amount of shots, from similar spaces, its different, its easier and more automatic for them...and then obviously they can carry it in to games against B10 and/or NBA level opponents.

Its not too dissimilar to watching a pro golfer on the driving range, or a major league hitter taking BP.  Everything just looks and feels different.

@kkott no he wouldn’t.  I can shoot broham.  And he will get cooked by good guards.  He will try getting charges called, and they will be and ones instead.  I’ve seen this script before.  He’s better than atrocious but he should be 10 mins a game max.

He's a good player playing at his maxium to play at the level he's playing at.  If he's doing well, you let it ride.  If he's getting beat then you sit him.  Where it becomes a big deal is, as you've mentioned before, if you don't have someone to replace him with.  And, if you had someone to replace him with then he wouldn't be starting in the first place.  But I'm chill on him.  I've seen him a lot (DePaul last year).

@kkott he’s just not a guy that gets more than 10 mins on an elite team.  If he is starting or playing 25 mins a game in January we aren’t where I want us to be.  He can come off the bench for  5 mins spurts twice a game.  That’s his value.

incredible.

the name of the thread is "enright has no business playing" and in two weeks you're now saying he could be getting 10 mins a game for an "elite team" (your words, not mine).

i think we all want the same thing here and that is to win.

this isn't an elite team. this has a chance to be a pretty good team.

it has a ceiling because of the issues with rebounding and size, imo. getting dorn healthy and miles back in the flow can help in that area but they're going to get killed on the glass by teams like purdue, michigan state and michigan.

can they be as efficient shooting, forcing turnovers and good enough getting to the line (and making them) to over come that? jury is still out for me but they can really score the ball and have two of the best shot makers in the league in devries and wilkerson so they'll never be out of games.

i do think they're a tournament team if they don't have a big injury (likely 7-9 seed) but there is a long way to go. i'm very impressed with the style and the unselfishness they've shown so far. i think the stat that shows that the most is 70.9% assist rate which is 8th in the country.

@iureactionary I'm guessing we end up a 6 seed. I realize it's a long season, but that is my prediction.

@iureactionary you obviously are new to reading me.  If I say you are atrocious that means should get 10 mins or less.  Don’t read everything as black and white.

@curtdog 5 banger for me.  Anything less than an 8 is underachieving IMO.

@cavanagh Yep. My expectations are Top 5 seed, be a player in the B1G, and make the second weekend of the NCAAT.

I think those are reasonable expectations.

@iunorth I wish I had better personal stories, but my one hoops claim to fame was averaging about 20-22 ppg as a 4'10" 8th grader (no 3-point line). I could light it up, and I could break a press solo. It paid to be so low to the ground when dribbling.

But ... I was a terrible teammate. As a PG who played most of the game, I think I totaled about six assists all season. If I had the ball in my hands, it was going up. I was such a ball hog that those assists were probably accidental.
