Same for Dusty May. He might put out that choir boy image for the cameras but behind the scenes I'd bet he's a killer. Lot of coaches don't seem to like him especially Izzo.
Something about a "pot" and a "kettle" comes to mind.
@jackskip23 I’m sorry you think you know more. Why do you think Painter addressed their toxic fan base? It was nice to know we aren’t the only ones. What information exactly are you using to definitively say my post was wrong?
A few whiny fans on the internet doesn’t constitute anything close to wanting a coach fired or any sort of real expectation that something like that could happen. I get why you made the claim but it wasn’t something that had any meaningful support.
@gerdis I’m just telling you what I was reading on the Purdue boards, on Twitter, and from my Purdue friends and family. They lost every big game they had at home this year, they lost something like 5 out of 6, they lost senior night. They said Painter was stubborn, they were too slow, Cliff was out of shape and couldn’t play more than 20 minutes, Braden was passing up shots to chase the record, and there must be discord in the locker room. None of that has anything to do with IU.
@jackskip23 oh I agree with that. He’s obviously there until he wants to retire.
Purdue has been consistently good for so long under Painter that fans expect the Boilers to compete for a B1G title and have F4 potential nearly every season. In a way, he's a victim of his own success.
It was eons ago, but I recall the days when most fans felt that way about IU. Now, an NCAAT bid is viewed as some sort of achievement. The once-mighty continues to fall, which is depressing.
