Goodness he is playing well. I don’t remember the story with Woodson. Why weren’t we even a serious contender?

For starters, Woodson couldn't remember his name let alone spent any real effort/time recruiting him or anybody out of HS. That was never happening. Bidunga also doesn't have real ties to the state of Indiana and only came here in HS so there's no extra pull for him to remain around and recruit himself to IU.
That was a big miss. He could really help us this year.
I remember on the (old) forum last spring some saying "he's not worth that, he scores about 6 points a game!' when there was talk of his NIL deal.
I felt he'd be an important get and was likely to make a nice improvement. We appeared to have nobody with good size and athleticism, so I was really hoping DeVries would want to (or be able to) pay up for him.
Oh well.
@openwheel He's basically THE perfect big man for most of today's modern systems. Efficient scorer at the rim, rebounds like crazy, rim protector, can run the floor, is athletic enough to guard effectively in the pick and roll, can pass pretty well.
I can't think of another reason why he wouldn't have given IU more of a look, with Adams on the staff, than he/they/we must have figured out early on we didn't have the budget to pay him what he was going to get.
Maybe we finish the year strong, and get a big NIL infusion, and he comes next year. I'd take him and Amani Hansberry!
Hysterical at the mic. Seems like a really good kid. And was throwing down jams yesterday. Next Embiid.
@scam-likely aka TMP got me.
Bidunga is not as good as Embiid. Doesn’t even show that potential yet.
I thought it wouldn’t translate, both Sub-Saharan, both playing for Kansas, both Top 10 picks.
When you have nothing to offer other than taking things literally which you should just take jokingly, it is probably time to just end it.
