It was above The Den on kirkwood.  Burritos as big as your head.  That shit was awesome after a night at Kilroys.

I don't remember La Bambas when I was there.  I do remember the Broad Ripple location in the 90s though.

loved that place.  Must have been the beer talking , swear I lived in that place.  They had one in West Lafayette too. And in Champaign

wonder if any are still around.

I liked it too.  I don't remember much Mexican food in Bloomington beyond Taco Bell, Taco John's, and Chi Chi's.

Still a few of the around apparently

I think I do.  Across from the wheel on the north end of town?

awesome.  Thanks for the link.  My older son is a freshman at Purdue.  I'll have to hit it up when I'm down there.  Yes it's hard to have a son at Purdue.  Real hard. :).

Burritos as big as your head. Perfect after a night of drinking ... but the morning brings internal chaos.

I used to walk there and have the burrito for lunch sometimes.

They used to be a college town staple.  There was one in West Lafayette, Muncie, Bloomington, Broad Ripple, and several other college towns.  Even Lincoln Nebraska, iirc.

I think there is still one on Lafayette Road in Indy.

50%+ of my graduating class went there.  And they went willingly.

There was one in Louisville too for awhile…I still remember the sign on the building….it was a big burrito with a hidden head….all you could see was the sombrero, forehead and ears! 😁

ABSOLUTELY.  Not sure how good it really was, but it was satisfying at the time.  I was trying to remember the other day, was the Den both upstairs & down at one point in the early 90’s before La Bamba  I distinctly remember buying bootleg CD’s upstairs….
