@hoosiers94 If you want to stress about it, and it sounds like you do, be my guest. With pulling a new team together, traveling out of the country, first game jitters, playing an overmatched opponent, new systems, etc... there's always going to be some good and some bad. If you listened to CDD's post game comments, he was very relaxed and sounded positive overall. Basically our shooting % on 3s comes down to Wilkerson having an off night, and it's apparent that doesn't concern CDD at all. No one said 50% on FT's is OK, but again, I'll worry when it becomes a trend, not after their first game, in the middle of summer, out of the country, etc... My takeway from afar, is that overall it was a pretty good first showing. Despite low 3 pt and FT %, they won by 50, had a freshman lead us in pts and minutes, had a double/double or 2, TD appears to be healthy, the foreign kid played, and sounds liked looked like he belonged... so yeah, I'm not worried about 3 pt or FT % in a game we won by 50, after 1 game.
I’ll wait to worry until when the team isn’t out in the summer sun all day kayaking pregame before a scrimmage

Well, that is the thing- there is absolutely zero correlation between this year's team and past performance.
The bad news is, they shot the 3 poorly in the first exhibition game. The good news is, it means absolutely nothing relative to any Woodson or Archie teams.
It's just one exhibition. Wait til the ink dries on the transfer paperwork before complaining about shooting percentages, right?
And listening to CDD post game he was extremely pleased that the pace of play and unselfishness that has been taught in practice was the way they played last night.
How about 32 assists on 41 shots made. That along with just 13 TO's.
We are 1 game played (and that an exhibition) and we have criticism.

yes I would agree with pace etc. I just call it as I see it. But you can't applaud all of that against the sisters of the poor and not call out where we played subpar. Ignoring what happens today doesn't correct it going forward. The old "it's just an exhibition " I don't buy it anymore. Play to win and play to excel each time the uniform and practice uniform is put on. Is there time to improve etc. for sure. But they have to recognize their shortcomings today and in January etc. ...
Yes those stats are unacceptable for August.
Need to bring back last years sharp shooters and coaching staff,this team may win a game.
Not worried about the 3 point shooting percentage, but the free throw shooting, or lack thereof is concerning.

They doubled up the other team and won by 50! Like I said, I'll be concerned when it becomes a trend. I once saw Steve Alford miss both FTs on a trip to the line, and he still turned out to be a pretty good shooter.

Most of us didn't, so I'm jealous if you did. 2 days later, it seems obvious, to me, the poor shooting stats and sentiments can nearly all be attributed to Wilkerson and DeVries. Literally the most proven and reliable shooters on our roster. Further, you mention winning every practice... CDD has built his career on being meticulous, using a process driven approach, etc... He's still in the early stages of his process. Check back in December/January...if we're still shooting less than 30% from the 3, and 50% from the line then... I'll be worried.
@hoosierific it's really not, but again, you want to worry over 1 game, and for the last time, that being an exhibition that we won by FIFTY, be my guest! If we shoot 50% on FTs in the next 2, then I'll raise an eyebrow. Glad our Coach has a more reasoned and realistic outlook than some on here. This team was recruited to prioritize shooting. It's one of the least of my concerns.
I too love that we shot 33 3's... that means the system is a more modern one which we needed ... so strike that off the list. CDD lived up to that part. Hopefully the shooting was a one game blunder. But we were built to be a shooting team. A team of shooters and the first example is a shooting debacle. That's all I'm saying. Kind of ironic no?
@hoosiers94 Not really, but again, worry away. Wake me if we shoot 26% on 3s and 50% on FTs in the next 2 games, then I'd raise an eyebrow. One thing I would agree with is that you said you'd bet CDD will be raising it with the team after the game. Of course he will and he'll have film to back it up (3 pt shooting at least). That's why they play these games to get the extra practice time, to bond and to see how things go in live action. Shooting is not a steady %. Players and teams go through great shooting nights and slower ones. I'll bet both are lows for this trip, and that we'll be one of the better shooting teams in the B10.
