Cig saying knee. Probably done moving forward. How bad does this hurt us?

Big loss.  Not fatal but pretty significant, IMO.

we've been really fortunate, big scheme, on the injury front since Cig arrived at IU.  This one hurts.  Obviously there are other, more important guys, we could have lost.  But Wyatt was becoming pretty darn impactful, and important to our efforts to pressure the backfield.  So it hurts just from the standpoint of losing an impactful guy.  But IU still isn't nearly as deep as other CFP level teams.  So from a depth perspective, this hurts even more.

Daley will have to step up and I imagine we'll see some shuffling and newer faces get some snaps.

It shouldn't change if we are favored or not in our remaining regular season games. And absolutely shouldn't be an excuse if the team drops one of the remaining games. However it's a pretty significant loss. He has been one of the best on that side of the ball for IU this year. The next man up has some big shoes to fill. They better come in with fire and hungry. Kamara also needs to step up.

This puts more pressure on the offense to score every possession.

Beebe and Wyatt are beasts. A shame they are out for the season.

Yea.  For instance the UCLA line didn’t move on this news.  But if it’s anything, it’s probably more of a factor for our potential ceiling in the postseason.  Maybe.

And yea, we can’t afford many injuries.

Heal up Kellen! You have played a big role in getting us to 7-0 . Hope it heals 100% and quickly for you.

So, we lose one defensive player and, thus, have to score on every possession to compensate for this?

You have to take into account who posted that. #negativenancy

Wyatt was very good but Dailey is also a beast and will fill in well. Where we lose is in the rotation as Dailey was spelling both Wyatt and Kamara. Maybe Ndukwe can step up to rotation? He looked pretty good last year in a limited role.

I’m wondering who they will rotate in now to spell Dailey and Kamara?  Will it be DePaepe and Ndukwe and Turvey?  Any of the freshmen ready like Calhoun and Burris?

I think we will see more of Ndukwe now, I would like to see Depaepe get some snaps to - he brings that top 150 overall recruit athleticism that can’t be coached. Doubt we see him though as it’s his 3rd year in college and he still hasn’t played snaps

Big loss for the defense. Our weakness this year was always going to be depth, outside of the early injuries to the safety room we have been pretty fortunate on that front at least. Glad we got Baldwin back at least

Turvy played when Wyatt got hurt at Oregon.
