Great write up: thank you! One thing I thought we'd see a lot more of in this game given the Iowa blitzes and aggresiveness up front were quick slants and passes to the RB and TE. Hemby had the reputation of a really good receiver and I expected to see more of that to allow Fernando to unload the ball quicker. I didn't play football and am much more a bball fan, so why didn't we do that? I really want to see us give Nowakowski a chance to break some tackles in the middle of the field. Guy looks like a fireplug.
I was also in the dark as to why no quick swings to Hemby.
Did we try any screens either? Seems like with that blitz coming up the middle that TE screen could work, although maybe that one needs time against the rush rather than beating a rush. (I wonder why we showed that one in a blowout game though? Seems like a hip pocket play.)
But I dont know, I dont watch with knowledge of the positional detail that strategy needs thats for sure.. Just some plays I try on replay, and I have to go over and over those and then compare to their other defensive calls, lol. Coaches do that ahead of time and then on the fly.
