Not sure how strong the purported "link" is, but this is definitely intriguing.
Physically he is almost unrecognizable from when he played for us. He has really transformed his body, and is widely regarded as an early round NFL draft pick.

Edit: I think I can now answer my own question as I just read that his girlfriend has transferred to Texas Tech.

@big-ryan - He wants top dollar and IU is better of spreading that money out on other positions of need.
@big-ryan I swear I read an almost identically worded article linking IU to Josh Hoover. I think Sammy is right, these stories are perpetuated by agents, AI and internet "news" outlets hungry for clicks and not because real conversations are happening.
Sorsby will be at TT. It’s basically done. His GF transferred there already. Similar situation to Pat Coogan.
@big-ryan Not bother for that reason and the fact that when he was starting games for IU he was fielding offers from other places. I get that may happen more than I think, but I don't think he'd be a good fit at IU.
Just a note on Athlon: I used to love their stuff, but they are very slow to the uptake and usually very click baity. After the Misfire by Joe Tipton (On3) yesterday, I take a very close look where this information is coming from. A lot of misinformation out there.

Is Sorsby that much better than Hoover? The TD-InT ratio is better but not the yards. Plus, TCU blew out Cincy and Hoover outplayed Sorsby in that game.
No question there's a ton of misinformation out there, but it would be surprising and disappointing if Athlon was playing that game. They've been around a long time. I still pick up their preseason mag every year.
That said, based on the comments above (including yours) and what I've read about the GF, Sorsby is likely going elsewhere. I'll be shocked, though, if CCC doesn't pick up a notable QB from the portal. I can't see him just handing the reins to Alberto (and that's no diss on the kid - - he's clearly very talented, but he's not his brother - - size and otherwise).

@cg-paul he said we were interested in one of those two-way NBA guys looking at going back to college. A quick check from IU media proved it to be not true.

Id rather have Hoover for our offense . Fast decision making on the move and nice release. Hoover throws the back shoulder really well. On time and on the money. We would just reload with a guy like him.

Some legit reporters have said IU will be a player for Hoover and even the favorite to land him.
