I expected an increase and we do have one more home game.  What surprised me was the jump in the PSL.  I figured it would go up and thought maybe $50-$75 bucks, I wasn't expecting it to jump $172 per seat, plus the added $14 to the parking pass on top of the increase.

I can understand also why they wouldn't sell new season tickets in Tier 5 so that they have enough room for people who need to move back to lower prices have room to do so but still, that's a big jump and with them looking to add more premium seats it probably only is going to get worse.

The way I look at it is what is my per game, per seat charge so for me its $132 per game which when you think about it that way its not a bad price for the value.

Yeah, I checked today.  Our tickets in Tier 1 on the East side nearly doubled in price.  They would now cost more than the East Side Club did last year.  They also expanded the tiers and made a new one so that there's no seats that don't carry a PSD.  So, ticket prices have basically nearly tripled in three seasons?  Pretty wild.  We may bow out, kinda on the fence about it.  It hurts to get priced out after I sat through 3 bad years of Tom Allen, never sold my seats, and cheered my ass off, but I suppose it's important to remember that they care more about revenue than any particular fan.

That's life.

Yes, they care about revenue because it is very costly to fund a top level football team. Cig and friends all got big raises and big bonuses this last year.

Although prices did go up, keep in mind that you're getting 8 home games versus 7 last year. All in, my tier 2 tickets last year were approximately $92 per seat per game. This year the same seats are approximately $115 each. Also this year the per seat license is included in the price, whereas last year it was a separate purchase. Although throw in an additional $10 on top of the $115, since this year I elected for the cushioned seatbacks!! However, for the increased price, I'm expecting to be at least equally entertained. So I guess that demands another undefeated season!!

Right.  This is still vastly more cost effective when compared to the top programs we are trying to compete against. A friend pays $2k annually just for ticket rights at ND. Don't even get me started on the price of the tickets themselves.

The better way to look at it is IU has had 2 seasons worth of the HIGHEST brand of football at a bargain barrel price.  We're bringing in Ohio State and USC to the Rock.  College GameDay is now going to open the season by looking at IU's schedule first to determine what weeks they want to be on campus.  We are in a different hemisphere and need to understand there must be financial burdens in order to maintain where we are. If people want to pay less for bad football, Indiana State isn't too far away.

Lastly, just look at the value of what you are getting.  The atmosphere and enjoyment we get each Saturday is well beyond the cost of the ticket.  It's economics 101 really.

Henke Hall of Champions tickets went up to $2,500 per.  So that's about $312.50/game.  Comfy seats I like, good food buffet, climate controlled space to retreat into, & semi-private bathrooms.  I think it's worth it.  But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't pushing me on price.

Once we've been to all the B1G stadiums, we're going to tone down significantly on the away games.  I'll consider adding a 4th seat at that point.  Or if I end up hitting a crazy parlay I'll just spring for a suite like the high rollers.  Or better yet, get a tent on the roof next to Mellencamp so we can burn heaters while watching a game.

@walt542 I paid almost as much for my season football tickets as I did for my season basketball tickets. Success really comes with a price. But at least I have my tickets.

Not very surprised after the last two years plus our stadium in small by comparison to the big name schools. Michigan probably has twice the seats we do in football. So its going to be a pretty hot ticket with less than 60k seating.

@zeke4ahs 20. I’ve got 4 partners. We take 4 each. But dang, $10 large is a salty dog for small business owners.
