I'm in Oklahoma and can't get an up to date forcast.
There could be a pop up cell, but those are random and right now the forecast is pretty clear.
15% chance all evening.
Now it's up to 25%
Thanks guys!
It poured down on our way out of the stadium after IU hit the 50 burger!
I stayed through the rain. It was nothing.
I’ve sat through much worse than that.
They simply don’t make fans like they used to in 1987. Those fans stayed until the end in that Michigan game and wore ponchos.
last night was more of a light mist.
@big-red-cb-v-2-0 shit in 1987 memorial stadium would have had us kids rolling down the hill in the north end zone with 5k alcoholics in the stands talking about how we will be good one day. That day is here!!! Sold out and beat a top 10 team by 50!!!!
Yeah, I was at that UM game in ‘87 and the rain was a lot worse than last night. We stayed through it as did most of the fans. There were some departures but those people were going anyway. It is amazing to me that some people feel they have to “beat the traffic” no matter what is going on. The people next to me always show up late and leave at the half. Why even bother?

The 1987 game was a sellout. Kids may have been rolling down the hill but the stands were packed and likely 5,000 alcoholics in the student section alone. We had already beaten OSU in Columbus and this game at home to beat Michigan was the cherry on top that year. The field was rushed and the goal posts were torn down. Easily within the top 5 moments in that stadium. The OSU slaughter we did the following year where Anthony Thompson ran wild was also a top 5 moment.
I read this title as meaning the Oregon game. I thought 'It's in Oregon. Rain is always in the forecast!' . LOL Like up here on Lake Superior. Snow is always in the forecast for about 6 months of winter.
Someday soon Cig will give us Darkest Day III . And he's 1-0 against Michigan.
It does look like rain is most likely this weekend in Eugene. Could be a sloppy game which bodes better for IU I think.
Yes, out of curiousity this morning I checked the early forecast for Eugene. As of now they're forecasting A high of 59 with showers in the afternoon. Based on stats for rushing and rushing defense both teams aren't far apart from eachother. Seems like many games this will be decided at the line of scrimmage.
Agree it could be a slop fest. Might have to bet the under on the 55.5 number.
Anyone with a better analysis? I'm curious to here some "expert" opinions.
@eppy99 Box stats kind of give a false view of it. Our run defense stats are weakened substantially from the 2 ODU QB runs.
Ok State was able to run the ball pretty consistently on Oregon, they had a bunch of early 3 and outs because they would run for 4 or 5 yards and then throw two incompletions.
Northwestern, likewise, was able to run the ball consistently on Oregon, and they also had a homerun TD gash.
Penn St didn't have as much success, but their run game wasn't that much better against UCLA who has a bottom 10 run defense in the country. Its a not a huge sample size, but PSU is probably not as good of a running team as people thought. People forget they struggled against their cupcake games in the 1st halfs and only really only pulled away in the 2nd halfs.
Meanwhile, if you remove those 2 TDs to start the year, IU has only allowed 70 yards rushing a game, at a 2.7 yard per carry clip. Thats elite run defense.
If it rains, I think that helps us a LOT. Oregon's biggest advantage over us is how fast their players are at every position, this is where having a roster of all 4/5*s comes into play. With how good our run defense is, and how good our run game is, rain would be a blessing.
I think the Iowa game results may give Oregon extra confidence. And yet, Cig said coaches decided to play much more zone D since Ponds was out. If Ponds played in Iowa I think the IU defense would have spent much less time on the field. Those repeated intermediate throws/catches kept Iowa drives alive all day.
