@gros-louis What about second hand embarrassment? Surely you at least felt that…
embarrassment that he didn’t know that our quarterback transferred and we had a new one? I mean, I thought it was a little bit weird I guess but I didn’t make any judgments.
I didn't hear it on TV, only from posts, but was there actually booing? Who the hell would be that much of an idiot? And multiple idiots?
Hopefully that was overblown.
I went back and watched the replay of the booing and I’m pretty sure it was @Big Red CB v.2.0 and @Iugradman 🧐
ah not everyone is a die hard nor has the time to know the roster back and forth. I'm in the camp of being happy they are there in droves

I wasn’t complaining. Merely making an observation.
I may have overreacted and been less than friendly on my first post. The IU fan base is still learning CFB.
at least they were at the game and interested.

Yes - you are correct.
Cig texted us both prior to the season and informed us that if the team is below the standard, they need to hear about it. Plus, they are all well paid and it’s all fair game now.
I would call it more bitching and groaning than booing. Concerning the play calling. My thought is that they knew they had the game in the bag and didn't want to show Illinois or Iowa anything....At the game the booing was very mild. I didn’t think anything of it until people posted about it.
Speaking of our fanbase, there are probably 10k tickets left for Saturday.
Why would they not put some 10 dollar tickets for sale to fill in some of the bare areas?
People will buy concessions and merchandise, to make up for some of the lost revenue.
10 dollars is better than an empty seat,I think the game is on national tv again.Purdue drew 54k for Ball St and we drew 47k after coming off an 11 win season.
I’m not bashing anyone,I know people don’t have a lot of money to spend on entertainment these days but really thought we would see a bigger bump this year.
@ccmac I honestly don’t know. Maybe it’s because it might anger people who bought tickets at higher prices earlier?
I do think IU overpriced the cupcake games.
Weather is looking like 67* and sunny for the kick-off. Hopefully the late ticket sales and walk up crowd is good.

They're offering Youth Sports Day tickets but I'm not sure how much they're discounted. Kids get to do the runout onto the field before the team. That's been fun in the past (to watch).
I am not in the camp that thinks you do broad discounting of your tickets. It's a worse look than having some empty seats. Targeting specific groups with promo codes is smart, but the general public often won't know about those options unless they hear it from someone.
You’re not wrong but we need to start somewhere, I am glad the guy was in the seats and hopefully he gets hooked liked most of us our, but Tayven is a bit of an odd one lol, while not a starter was probably them well known guy that transferred out.The title of this thread is probably not great but I’m tired and being lazy.
I was shocked yesterday when the guy that sat next to me, full IU gear on, excited and cheering for the Hoosiers, there with his teenage son (using a friend’s tickets) leaned over to ask me who our QB was. And then asked what happened to the QB from Center Grove? I immediately thought of Tyler Cherry, but he was talking about Tayven.
all of that to say, we still have a new fan base. Not die hards like people that post on message boards 12-months a year. And we need those people so that they can become bigger fans.
just a specific interaction I thought I would share to maybe help with some perspective.
My 40th season attending games. There have always been a mix of knowledgeable and fair weather fans. All I know is that was by far a better attended game than most home openers I've attended. And certainly not the first round of boos I've heard. Yes, I want a sell out, with very few leaving at half, and all invested in the team and its performance. But for the time being, I'm glad to see more tickets sold and revenue up. Let's keep winning and this will most likely solve itself.
Made it from southern Alabama last week and will be there again this week.
Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoosiers!!!
p.s. I was one of the knowledgeable attendees, my wife was one of the less knowledgeable ones. But she was there whistle to whistle, screaming her head off!!
Chicken shit or chicken salad and empty sets because of lack of marketing/last chance pricing is chicken shit.
