OSU defense

We have all heard about how Ohio State defense is otherworldly. This may very well be true and we could see it all play out over the next month. But here are the S&P offensive rankings of the teams they have faced so far:

Texas-38

Grambling St-NR

Washington-28

Minnesota-92

Illinois-36

Wisconsin-122

Penn St-21

Purdue-105

UCLA-106

Rutgers-43

Michigan-50

The best one is Penn State and they were arguably worse than that ranking when Ohio State faced him without Allan.  Again, they may be amazing, but I don’t think enough justifiable data has been produced to know one way or the other. The good news is we are about to find out.

I found your information above very interesting, and it got me thinking about what was IU's rankings for the teams IU played.  So I did the same as you and looked up the information on espn.  IU and osu had 5 common opponents, ill, psu, ucla, wisc, and pu.  The rankings for IU's opponents, not including isu, were ODU  41, Kennesaw  64, Oregon  13, Iowa  48, Maryland  89, and MSU  74.  osu's other opponent was ohio with an 88 ranking.  To me, unless osu was dogging it in all of their games the differences based on the s&p rankings between IU and osu are not that different.  Now I understand that there is a major talent disparity and osu is above and beyond all mortal college football teams, but to me that is why they play the game.  We shall see Saturday evening.  To me this is going to be a very close game, but then again, I watch games and am not a talking head.  Time for an afternoon libation.  Go Hoosiers.

Actually, Indiana matches well with OSU's roster & may be better. Look for Indiana to win by 2 scores.
