Oregon O line: Poncho 6'2" 329, World 6'8" 318, Pregnon 6'5" 318, Harley 6'6" 327, Bedford 6'6" 305. Then of course you've got Sadiq TE 6'3" 245 who's quite possibly one of the best athletes in college football.Someone said their O-line is the biggest in the Big Ten? I don't know if that's true or not. I know they have a bunch of talent all over the field. Agree with the speed comment.
I'm looking for a win. I think we have to punch a bit above our weight, but if we do and they don't, Hoosiers win! They have good coaching too though. And sure haven't lost much in recent years.
One thing I haven't seen on here yet is any comments about how well Oregon blocks down field. It's one of the things that makes this Oregon team pretty good.
I've got a lot of respect for Indiana, coach players, etc. It should be one heck of a game.
agreed. If they get pissed we could get smoked.
in my prediction, i took 28-24.
i don't think they get smoked but i just don't know if the offense is going to score enough given the environment and what we saw against iowa and last season. i do think the game goes under as i think iu's defense is legit.
it's hard to play on the road even in an empty stadium (looking at penn state) and this is going to be as loud or louder than kinnick.
and for the record, i don't care how big an offensive line is. sure, these guys are more athletic than illinois' but iu dumpstered illinois (avg 320lbs) and made iowa's elite, less heavy but more athletic ol look middling at best.
iu has a very good dl and oregon hasn't faced anyone as good since osu last year and they got destroyed by osu last year.
The new front page article on receivers and DBs reminded me of the Lanning comment.
"If they’re not catching the ball, they’re creating pass interference calls because of the way they attack the ball."
I don't think we get any additional pass interference calls. I've seen more that went uncalled that we deserved.
I believe Lanning is just putting this narrative into the mind of their fans so they roar a complaint when we get a call. And have it be in the mind of the officials.
@openwheel right... and? Would you expect any different of a top level coach? Especially one that's on the younger side and doesn't have the cache built up of a Saban, Dabo or Day?
A funny story about coaches and refs. One of my former co-workers played at App St and faced an RMK IU team in one of the holiday tournaments. He said when his coach was walking back from the handshake with Knight, he was chuckling and shaking his head. The players asked him why and he said, "Knight put his arm around me and said "Tom, let me introduce you to the guy who's going to f*ck you out of this game tonight!"" and then introduced him to the head ref.
I expect it. I just hate when I see the head games work against my team. Hoping it has no effect or backfires.

my favorite part about it is that it's comically untrue.
iu nearly lost at iowa because of a blatant blown pi call on omar cooper in the end zone. that could have cost them the game.
mendoza isn't close to as good at the back shoulder stuff as kurtis rourke and there have been a lot less dpi calls in general against iu's opponents this year.
This may seem like a weird comment but can someone explain why everyone is so high on Oregon. Wins against, Montana state, Oklahoma state, Northwestern (34-14), Oregon state, and Penn State (who looked bad all year and finally lost vs UCLA) isn’t like their schedule has been tough. 9th in the country in total offense (IU 5th) total defense 7th (IU 5th). I feel like it should be a 3 point spread (for home field advantage only) feels much more like a toss up to me.
This post is aging very well 😊
ODU does seem to be the "cupcake" I labeled them as. Just sayin
Maybe. Depends on how the season shakes out if we per chance lose a game... they start lobbing our strength of schedule.
ODU is good but JMU is the cream of the crop at that level. They showed very well against them.
Odu has seemingly fallen way off the past couple weeks. They got blown out by Coastal Carolina last week. I was more concerned about the optics of that game when it looked like we may take losses to both Oregon and Penn State, but now I don’t have that concern. As long as we don’t drop any stupid games we will be in the B1G championship game and no way we don’t make the CFP in that regard. We have to lose at least 2 games to fall out of the B1G championship game. The 2nd half of our schedule is easier than the first half, but we can’t get complacent as fans or players. ODU doesn’t have any control over our destiny. Only we do.
