@hoosierdaddy I understand your overall point but the difficulty of playing at Williams-Brice versus Autzen Stadium is quite a large gulf...counting 2020, the yard chickens have lost 13 games at home. In that same time span, Oregon has lost 1. Autzen Stadium is not just a tough venue, it is one of the most difficult places to win in the entire country.
i agree here...i think people aren't understanding how hard it is to beat oregon in their place.
i also think people aren't really understanding just how good oregon is. their pff page looks like osu's from last year. they have an elite offense and defense just looking at the raw stats.
i wrote about this but they're loaded literally everywhere.
they have playmakers at every position on offense, the best OL in the nation by pff, one of the best qb's in the nation, a defense that rarely blitzes and still gets pressure just with the front four to go along with elite lb's and with an elite secondary.
i like iu to stay in this game and potentially win if they can get their silent count figured out but oregon is an elite team, regardless of the psu game result.
I’d say IU fans are overall more pessimistic about this game than the betting markets.

Not this fan.
The shitty thing about being good in football is, I think about the game all week while at work. And post. Sorry work... I lump all the little breaks together mentally to decide when I've had enough breaks for the day. OK, back to work.

Yea, this week is crazy, especially since all of CFB media is primarily focused on our game and previewing and analyzing it on all their shows.
Being in these big games is a wild experience.

I can’t believe it’s only Wednesday.
Love it! IUFB is in the hoopla. Focus really develops after 6-0. HOOSIERS hungry and prepared.
IMHO the keys for IU. Pretty obvious and what others have already said.@hoosierdaddy I understand your overall point but the difficulty of playing at Williams-Brice versus Autzen Stadium is quite a large gulf...counting 2020, the yard chickens have lost 13 games at home. 1. Figure out the silent count problem. Not sure why that still is a thing for this staff but it is. Iowa was timed in really well and it almost cost IU. It will absolutely cost IU against Oregon if they didn't get it fixed.
2. Establish the run. IU needs to be able to run the ball effectively.
3. You're going to take any points you can get in a game like this but touchdowns, especially in the RZ, have to happen.
Just my opinion, but we need to win the old turnover battle as well, and a few breaks in this dept would help too given how hard this game is.
There is a lot of talk about how bad this team beat this team and is this team really elite like everyone thought. Sometimes good teams have bad days. Ohio state lost to Oregon and lost to Michigan at home last year then they steamrolled everyone in their path on their way to a championship. Oregon is really good, and the fact that Penn St may not be as good as people once thought doesn’t cause me to change my mind about Oregon at all.
Seems like everyone is counting IU out and saying it’s a matter of we get blown out or not. How “only” losing by 10 would be “respectable”
I fully expect the boys to go in pissed and to roll the ducks. They haven’t played a team as big, physical, and well coached as ours, and they won’t again until the playoffs.
Ok State ran the ball 20x in the first half of their game, only one of them went for a TFL. We will be able to run them over as long as Mendoza makes the correct read on the RPOs
I've heard Kinnick is a very tough place to play, I have no experience with that stadium, pink locker rooms and all. I do have a bit of experience at Autzen, yea it's not big, seating 54,000 and average attendance is around 60,000.How does Kinnick compare to Autzen? It is significantly larger and known to be a very tough environment.
One of my favorite Autzen memories related to noise level was several years back UCLA came to town, took the opening kickoff at there own 20 and two plays later they were at there own 10 via two illegal motion penalties. The UCLA QB turned to the crowd and gave them the single digit salute. Of course the crowd just got louder.
Also, last year against ohio state, I saw one article that claimed the "AVERAGE" noise level was 115db.
Don't know if this helps, but Lloyd Carr called Autzen the "loudest stadium he'd ever been in"The consistency of measurement with the decibel readings is a bit suspect.
It seems Oregon does a lot of self promotion with their stadium. Autzen is loud and the fans are very close to the field, but it is a fairly open stadium and I just can't imagine it being much louder than somewhere like Kinnick. And I definitely don't think it's louder than the big places with wild ass fans like LSU and Tennessee, or the big places with kinda wild fans like PSU and Ohio State.
Frankly, once you can't hear you can't hear, and that will be the case. The bigger issue is the very good team that calls Autzen home.
