The careless, unnecessary penalties that were a major issue in the past...have gone away.
The talking and chirping have been greatly reduced.
This group is highly disciplined and held to a very high standard.
All intangibles necessary to succeed at a high level
Yep. Very much so.
Yet our guys are allowed and do celebrate and have fun. Which is cool.
Loved the announcers pointing out about 10 minutes after a false start when we were already up big, that Coach was still mad, talking to them about what went wrong. LOL
Discipline to perform and execute well. Definitely built into the new culture and how they prepare.
Good talent evaluators.
Mental attitude.
Top game planning.
Prep focus is details.
On the fly in game adjustments.
Especially talent evaluation!
This talent is the Staff/Program's greatest asset, imo.
They recruit guys who are teachable and coachable
Some athletes lack necessary intangible skills, resist coaching, and never develop.
Cig and staff have won at every stop, evaluating talent and recruiting.
Cig wants every play to be run as if the game depended on it. It's not about running up the score, it's about demanding that level of focus consistently.

Some of us older guys remember a basketball coach that used to roam the sidelines that had the same demands…it worked out pretty well
He is like knight but more civil/mature
