and their fans are not happy. Their boards read like a contest to see who can create the most overwrought victimhood narrative, mixed in with a narcissistic attitude that they can somehow take their ball and go home from the CFP and upset the entire landscape of college football on their own.
All they have to do is become a fulltime (all sports) member of the ACC. They’ll dominate and be in every year.
Aside from sharing football revenue, I think ND’s concern is just the opposite (that they wouldn’t dominate and be in every year).

If Tulane played Minnesota then Minny would probably be favored. And somehow we have a 12 team tournament to determine the Champion and Tulane has qualified. The system needs fixed.

They would make an extra $50M+ per year by joining the B1G. They won't for one reason only. They're chicken shit.

I really don't understand this. And no, it's not the same as turning down the NIT in March.
If this is what ends up happening on a regular basis, then the bowl system, as degraded as it already is, will be as good as destroyed.

The transfer portal already nailed the coffin shut
Wisconsin, Michigan State, Purdue and USC should pay the buyouts and cancel their games with them next season.
Why would they do that?
Because ND’s decision is selfish and hurts college football overall. In fact, all P4 schools should avoid them until they join a conference.
So, you're too good for a bowl game, huh? Well, the CFP is too good for you. Go whack off to Touchdown Jesus and STFU.
If the world didn't already hate Notre Dame, they do now. What a bunch of whiney bitches.

They won’t because they don’t want to and they don’t have to. That’s never inhibited them in any meaningful way until the CFP, and we’ll see if impacts the “have to” issue. They’re never going to want to.

The ACC would love ND to join on an all-sports basis, but they’re thrilled with the partial membership. Not sure why anyone thinks their refusal to join a conference hurts college football. That just sounds desperate.

They want to be able to gimmick their way into the playoffs. It's the only reason they do what they do. It's worked for them in the past. Obviously not this year.

What’s their “gimmick”? What didn’t work for them this year was a weak ACC schedule, losses to the two best teams on their schedule, and their top win against the fourth best team in the Big Ten. They just didn’t take care of business on their schedule field.

No shit. They scheduled only 2 games with possible losses and did so right at the beginning of the season. They did so as they know losses at the beginning of the season hurt less than losses at the end. Didn't work how they wanted it to.

Because they play by a different set of rules than everyone else. Ohio State got $20 million when they won the national championship last year. They had to split it with 17 other teams. Guess who Notre Dame had to split their $20 million with? No one!
They also never have the pressure of playing in a conference championship game.
I just went on Twitter for the first time today, and the entitled bitching from the ND fan boys was just so over the top that I couldn't separate reality from parody. I'm glad they lost out. Fuck them. And literally fuck every single one of their annoying fans.
