I’d like to see collective bargaining, but I doubt schools want that. The result would be a lot more compensation to players than the current system (other pro leagues pay a larger % of revenue and players would get likely get the usual employee benefits).
They didn’t want NIL or revenue sharing, either, but both are sitting in their collective laps. Collective bargaining will be the best way to create a workable set of rules that restores some level of sanity to CFB. If you saw what Demond Williams attempted to do and translate that to an action involving multiple players, it should concern every fan of the sport. It’s not hard to envision the threat of a mass player work stoppage, which could be catastrophic for the sport.
@jackskip23 There won’t be collective bargaining unless there is a breakaway super league with a huge media deal to fund it.

Not sure that will have to happen. I think the players could easily exert their leverage, by way of their representation (who stand to earn big bucks), to force this to occur. Presidents won’t be active, since they never have been, but they’ll react to the assertive approach from the player’s side. Huge media deals are already funding what we have, by the way.
Nice. Would be a good get it appears, if he checks all the boxes Cig looks for
If Baxter is healthy (and I imagine that we've done our due diligence) he seems to fit the prototype of a "big back" who should excel as a pass blocker and a tough yards kind of guy...
Here's hoping we get him...

Yea well AD's are broke right now, by the way. It's their fault, but the fact remains.
A lot more money would need to be found to fund what would come from collective bargaining.
And no, players could not easily exert their leverage, as there is pretty much no sign of players coming together to do anything on this.
If we aren't going to discuss actual New Portal News why not ask Jack how things are over on the p u board...
I imagine they're feeling rather sad since their last best hope got lit up last night... 😉🤣
How about it Kern County?

Opt outs make it obvious how much leverage players have.

Kern County in CA? You betcha. I’m sure there are IU fans there. I just remember you were all in on LEO. LOL
If you were actually an INDIANA fan Jack/Kern County/ Ordfan you'd know that LEO is still the foundation of INDIANA FOOTBALL the only difference these days is that the coaching staff isn't using it as a punch line...
Tell your buddies on the p u board that they'd better enjoy basketball season to the fullest because they're in for a longgg stretch of pain and embarrassment on the football side of things....

LOL. You were a big LEO / Tom Allen guy. If you want to run away from that now, that’s on you. Where are your seats in Miami? I’ll buy you a beer. LEO!
