I was bummed that Cig told one of the game media guys that last Monday was, a bad day... On players upset on who he brought in at their positions. For Cig to say a bad day...
But we crushed Oregon. So clearly Cig, staff, and especially team kept their focus anyway. Oregon wasnt able to.
But we never heard about a bad day here, instead from some national guy. So now Im waiting on word on a couple, especially Alberto. Unless they already locked his deal in and he cant go.
Exciting to hear we have more good news coming. The portal plan has looked good so far!

It’s tough. CFB is so competitive and we’ve got to build the best roster we can. I’m sure this results in some tough situations and discussions.
But, these guys are now professionals making a lot of money and I’m quite sure players get a chance to earn a role here. Some will move on and while not fun it’s okay.
100%. I think a bad day may stem as much from Cig caring about his guys as people not just players. But he has a job to do.
And, a bad day may also mean he risks losing some. But he said from Day One that everybody will be recruited over, and said those players who want to be great understand that.
I cannot imagine ANY scenario where increasing the Fed 'oversight' of ANYTHING will improve the situation.
not oversight. That would be ridiculous. But as others have said, the government can and should grant some anti trust waivers so the Power 5 schools can create a league with rules. Just like NFL, NBA, MLB, etc... currently it's the wild wild West and not sustainable.I cannot imagine ANY scenario where increasing the Fed 'oversight' of ANYTHING will improve the situation.
This league could absolutely include education and academic standards as well. Keep it somewhat about these kids getting an education while competing.
They need collective bargaining and that’s inevitable, but the Score Act needs to pass to help that.

Collective bargaining coupled with either employee or contractor status is inevitable. From that, transfer rules, the portal, revenue distribution, practice / prep time, etc. will all be contractually mandated.
Are the expected portal visitors on campus this afternoon?
@mrhighlife Someone needs to take a leadership role to fix the mess or eventually this collegiate athletic industry will implode. The presidents of the universities aren't taking any initiative involved with educating the so-called student athlete. The focus is primarily on winning. I at one time was of the opinion that student athletes should not not be paid. By virtue of the reality that colleges use the young athletes for great economic gain I no longer feel that way. I endorse your suggestion about the government providing anti trust exemption so the schools can create some sort of structure and rules.
I've been around along time and the government has proved decade over decade the old securities warning, past performance doesn't guarantee future results is a lie. SS, Medicare and Medicaid are glaring, flashing red lights. Antitrust won't be recognizable when the 2 DC houses of Vaseline salesmen produce their finished product.
I’d like to see collective bargaining, but I doubt schools want that. The result would be a lot more compensation to players than the current system (other pro leagues pay a larger % of revenue and players would get likely get the usual employee benefits).

Kids are on campus.
Looks like Williams has 3 years of eligibility. Played in the FCS Division for Montana State but had 19 offers out of high school. Mostly lower profile schools but included were Kansas State, Texas State, and Boise State.
