IU needs to prepare to open the checkbook for Brunner if Texas is involved. Also, it looks like Gillian is headed to Tennessee. I know Jim Knowles is there but transfers should be flocking to play for IU. Tennessee is not a well coached team and just lost five games with zero good wins.

Unless Texas Tech has way more money, IU should not be outrecruited by them. McGuire got exposed as a coach in over his head against Oregon.

Not sure you can look at it like that re Tech and Tenn. IU has a budget, like every other team. Have to spend wisely and fill out the entire roster, and can't outbid every team in the nation for every player. That's not feasible.  That said, I hope we land Brunner if the staff target him.  I want IU to become OL U

@thehoosierhuddle with the interior already being our strength on the OL. Do you see any position flexibility from Ajani or Brunner for that matter? Probably not at LT, but do any of them move well enough to shift into a road grading RT.

@evillehoosier8 Ajani started at tackle in the Rose Bowl, so they’re confident in his abilities there. Lynch can play center as well. It’s also not 100% certain Carter Smith goes pro

@bradstevens Agree 100% with your comments! We all  too well remember what happened last year with the IU basketball team. A bag of money was thrown to a number of top rated guys in the portal. That was a failed strategy that was doomed to fail.

@thehoosierhuddle thank you. I actually was thinking that was the case. The thought of Brunner and Smith on the left side might make Buckeyes donate to UT’s NIL just so they don’t have to watch there defensive line get buried play after play.

Also this is ridiculous. Maybe Congress can step in a force college footballs hand.

Yes, that's exactly what we need to fix this.  Congress.

You think it's screwed up now, just wait until a bunch of professional politicians get their hands on after the wannabe and former politicians have done so well with it.

Unfortunately there are no other alternatives.....states were beginning to pass legislation respecting regulating college athletics/compensation that was out of left field......and if the schools ever DID get their shit together and come up with a plan there'd be 15 lawsuits in 15 different states filed attempting to abrogate it, unless it had the stamp of approval of Congress.

I get it, but I stand by my statement.

Congress can screw up a wet dream.

@iugradman Brunner is worth the checkbook. Has versatility to play inside or out at a starter caliber

I feel pretty good about the roster for next year outside of the OL. Think we need another KOS, and maybe 1 depth DT but thats about it.

That's why you have ex-jocks, administrators, coaches come up with the plan with Congress just to vote on it.  Keep the politics out of it as much as possible.  Leadership is required.......I think the conference commissioners should be leading but there are too many divergent interests.

This is one reason why I thought it would be helpful to college football to have ND in the BT.......to advance a plan for going forward.

I’d like to see a proven TE and another WR plus a couple more OL and DT.
