I see a lot of comments that read something like: "we need to get some offensive linemen". That's understandable and probably true but nearly every school's fan base is saying the same thing and if you look through any portal ranking list you want to use, there really are not that many well-regarded offensive line prospects in the portal...at least not yet. Business could pick up at any time on that front but the pickings currently are pretty slim and we know that IU is not going to take someone just to fill a spot, it needs to be a good fit.
Livingstone to OK.
IU is one of the big boys on the portal trail ... just as they are on the field.
This all still doesn't seem real. But it's past midnight, and there are zero signs IU will turn into a pumpkin any time soon.
There is zero indication based on Cignetti’s coaching history that he is going to have some sudden falloff. The 2027 high school recruiting class is going to be an all-timer. Top portal players will continue to want to come here as well.
Sports Talk J stated that the LT Tennessee lost to the portal was being paid 1.8 million last season and is looking for 3 million for the upcoming season. For some O line market context.

Who is Sports Talk J?
Kentucky, freaking Kentucky, nabbed the top interior offensive lineman in the portal. Did IU not pursue this guy?

He committed to Houston
I trust in Cignetti and the coaching staff to assemble the best possible collection of players from the portal. They know what's needed to build a winning roster. Position need, culture fit, player interest, time constraints, financial budget and a myriad number of factors go into their effort. I'm interested to see the portal additions but realize I'll really not know how to truly measure the success of the portal staffing until the 2026 season plays out.
Wow. Just saw Demond Williams is leaving Washington and has a “Do not contact” clause which means he knows where he is going. Surprised by that with no coaching change. LSU maybe in the mix there? Seems like someone they’d target to replace Chambliss.

@cg-paul no one knows yet what Dante Moore will do from what I’ve heard. Plus Oregon is a bitter rival for Washington. I’d be surprised if it were Oregon, but you never know.
