A bit of a nitpick, but it is not the Marching 100. It is the Marching Hundred.
Part 1....I hope that means we get a Peach Bowl and a Natty video as well.
These drops are also part of their new youtube channel. I hope that also means they upload some videos of some of their tunes this year: Fernando, Isengard, Mordor, etc. The IU songs are on there already.

I was waiting for someone to make a band post because I didn't want to be that guy.....I have been critical.
The band showed some life this year. I liked the time they spelled out CIGNETTI at the Peach Bowl.
We'll never have a real football band like at OSU, MSU, PSU, et al, but if Cignetti can order up ten more trumpets and ten more trombones we'll be talking.....

I would agree. Also have been a band critic, but they represented us well throughout the postseason. But damn, give me Wisconsin's band.
Indiana fans should show more appreciation for the Marching Hundred. They show up early and they stay all game, with no booze, no leaving at halftime, playing all the way through to postgame, no matter the conditions or the outcome. From my time as a student until now, fans always talked sh*t about the band, when what they really didn't like was all the Ls. Suddenly IU has a winning team and "the band has gotten better".
Not so sure. Ive seen and heard years where they didnt sound great and the uniforms looked like the Philadelphia Santa Clause snowball incident guy.
This year (and maybe for some years, its true) they sounded very good and looked sharp.
I appreciated them putting in all that effort for our school. And the winning.
@lonestarhoosier1 This is spot-on. On a similar note, I don’t see the usual suspects clamoring for new football uniforms or helmet designs anymore either. Funny how that works…

I think the change in leadership helped them some this year. I've talked ish about the band because their musical selection has sucked, their marching style is uninteresting, they have too many woodwinds and their idea of funny is...not funny.
Tiffany's changes weren't dramatic, but positive steps. The Hundred is also more engaged in the games now instead of being whiny about not getting as much playing time as they got way back when Woodley was there. It's taken probably 2-3 cycles of students to get over that attitude.

Maybe its tricks on the mind, but I do think the band played louder than it has in the past. We need them pumping as much noise as possible
The band has always been better than its been given credit for. If people want to set the standard at OSU's band, they will always be disappointed.
Not to be argumentative, but why can't our band be on that level?Suddenly IU has a winning team and "the band has gotten better".

If we can reach the standard of the OSU football team, reaching the standard of their band should be far easier.
@gros-louis Maybe always was the wrong word, but I dont *expect* IU to be the best at every single thing. Were making big improvements across the board, and Im good with that.
@gros-louis Sounds personal. How would you know if they were whining or not? What’s your connection?

Lots of them.
Reach the level of OSU? All it takes is leadership. Existing leadership gets it done or you get new leader.
Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.
