Not surprisingly, Fernando Mendoza was named the winner of the Manning Award.

Isn't that award for playing in the Citrus bowl? We didn't play that one.

Funny that a huge Tom Brady fan (Fernando) wins the Manning award.

Mendoza has a lot of similarities to Manning in how he prepares and how he leads with his offense.  A lot of QBs think they can just tuck and run to help the team, but what they dont realize is teams scout how often that happens and in what situations.  A disciplined QB like Fernando who always looks downfield and keeps his head up even after he calls his own number- that's a great way to lead with your guys.  Makes it much more difficult for a defense if a QB only runs when its open.
