Honestly the comeback at MSU.
UCLA prior to season starting I thought would be a big test. However as I watched the game it was obvious to me they were not a good football team so I felt good about the convincing road win but watching the Bruins I knew it wasn't as quality of a win as I once thought it would be
The UCLA game was the 'sealer'. Went to the MSU game but we couldn't get in until the 1st quarter ended with us behind 10-0. Our first time all year to be behind. MSU students were chanting 'overrated' & 'Hoosier Daddy' until we roared back. And I mean roared back, to the tune of 47 straight points. The stadium became empty except for Hoosier fans! Loved it!!
Yes, I’m with you guys on the Nebraska game being the one that convinced me that it was a great team. Before that game I hoped we would win. After that game I expected IU to win.
perfectly stated.....Nebraska was the game. To listen to their build up that week was just disrespectful and the thoroughness of the beat down so complete by the Hoosiers. Screw I.M.Hipp. I was at all of those games. Cig kicked their ass that afternoon.Like most sensible IUFB fans, I was definitely in wait and see mode with CCC and the team last year. And like most, I was looking forward to seeing how well -- or poorly -- we did @UCLA. The win was great, and maybe even a little surprising in its thoroughness. The MD game was no surprise, and it solidified my thinking that this guy Cig and this team might actually be pretty good. But it was the beatdown we put on NEB that told me we had something special going on, and this team/season would be one of the greats. As the wins piled up, OSU no longer looked so formidable. And while that showing was a disappointment, it doesn't get much better than 66-0.
This year, I'm much more confident going in, but I'm still going to wait and see how we do against IL. A loss there won't totally sour me on them, depending on how we lose, but a win will convince me once again that we're for real.
BEAT PURDUE

I was there. We took over that stadium in the fourth quarter. It was a beautiful sight!
Sitting with my 16 yr old watching us beat the crap outta NB. Looked at my son and said “we’re going to WA game.” Went online at halftime and bought 4 tix. They sold out that Monday. Previously had bought PUke tix. Also scalped one ticket for $200 for MI game in front of the stadium. Money well spent. This coming from a guy who walked out of Memorial Stadium on numerous occasions and swore I’m never coming back back. 0-3 loss at UK, loss against UCONN. Total beat down vs WI. Embarrassing humiliation in the cold vs Rutgers. These are the ones that jump to the forefront. But $200 spent on an IU football game was sooooo worth it! Walking my family into the snowy, lit stadium to watch an absolute shit stomping of the PUkes! Man what a season. Have 3 games this season. Will also buy my family tix for the away PUke game where my son will be into his second year sentence of living at that gosh awful place. He’s Hoosier thru and thru but 4 yr sentence handed out when got into the engineering program. Painful for all but will b worth it in the end! But I digress. IL will be YUGE and I can’t wait!!! Let’s turn Ross Aide red in November!!!
Nebraska. Seems like in the past, every time IU football had a chance to take a step forward, they’d take 2 steps back. Not this team! Gameday, talented Nebraska team, hyped up quarterback, highly rated defense…IU destroys them. Basically none of that was normal for IU football, so it was obvious we had a different kind of team.
The Nebraska game was it for me. That was a complete domination as several have said. I especially liked the Asbury interception and return, and the announcer letting people know that "America, they have a football team." He knew as we all did. The new Indiana is different.
UCLA. Mostly because it was a continuation of extremely well executed football over a few weeks. At no point after that did I have a doubt about winning games. I accepted and knew OSU could easily be a loss, but I figured we would beat everybody else. No nerves, just watching ass kickings. What a pleasant change.
Nebraska. That’s when I began puffing out my chest and happy to discuss college football - with anyone 😎
Same for me... that sealed the deal IMO.
