Last year, when were you convinced?

Like most sensible IUFB fans, I was definitely in wait and see mode with CCC and the team last year. And like most, I was looking forward to seeing how well -- or poorly -- we did @UCLA. The win was great, and maybe even a little surprising in its thoroughness. The MD game was no surprise, and it solidified my thinking that this guy Cig and this team might actually be pretty good. But it was the beatdown we put on NEB that told me we had something special going on, and this team/season would be one of the greats. As the wins piled up, OSU no longer looked so formidable. And while that showing was a disappointment, it doesn't get much better than 66-0.

This year, I'm much more confident going in, but I'm still going to wait and see how we do against IL. A loss there won't totally sour me on them, depending on how we lose, but a win will convince me once again that we're for real.

UCLA game I felt we were going to have a good season but after Nebraska I felt like we had a chance in every game.

My only criticism of the staff was in not figuring out how to hide your silent snap count at OSU.  Watching on TV you could see the snap indicator.  Even I knew when IU was about to snap it.  They need to change that going into Iowa, PSU and Oregon.

Nebraska. That’s when I began puffing out my chest and happy to discuss college football - with anyone 😎

Yup. The wins up until then made me hopeful, but that was the convincer.

Agree with above.

Honorable mention would be getting down 10-0 at MSU and the reeling off a 47-0 run while holding MSU to basically zero yards rushing (after they had moved the ball fairly well at UM the week before). That was incredible.

By that time I was still confident we could/would win the game. Which was a new feeling to have when down by 10 points against someone like MSU.

That was a great win, but I was still a little leery. I'm old enough to remember going out to Oregon way back when and winning, and thinking we had a good team.

That Oregon game was weird. Didn’t the Ducks have like eight turnovers?

Everyone is going to call BS, but Western Illinois is when I knew this team was different. 77-3. That’s what great teams do to bad teams.

Maryland game confirmed it for me though.

I went to the Western Illinois game and that was when I started to think that team was different. Setting a school record in points and yards, despite the level of competition, planted the seeds of hope in my mind.

That sounds right. I really don't remember much more than they were supposed to be good, and we were... Indiana. We weren't supposed to win that game, and we never, ever beat anyone who was better than us on paper.

I never asked anything more of IUFB than we beat the teams we should, and maybe steal one every once in a while. With but a handful of exceptions, that never happened.

Lance Bennett also returned a KO for a touchdown
