Another really bright spot on the new season Khobie Martin was really impressive. Spin moves and shiftiness. Looks like a bright future at RB for him.
If Beebe is out for an extended period of time, I think we all feel good about Martin stepping into that role.
Thought Martin showed really good vision and patience to set up his blockers on several runs and then a nice burst when he saw his lane. I also really liked Becker's efforts after the catch. The younger guys on the team have shown some nice flashes.
Khobie looked good. Hope he gets some plays. Gotta keep guys like that. Hes experienced now.
Sean Cuono looks promising too, longer term.
Martin looked really good again, this time against a Big Ten defense. So far he looks like a future star.

This has been the really great thing to watch, given how limited time he's had on the field. He's also a human pinball and sometimes a tornado out there. Bouncing and spinning all over the field.
I was impressed with VanHorse too. He ran the ball hard and you could tell he was excited to play.
Kid has speed. Can't teach that.
@openwheel Not sure why would lose him. Next year we get Beebe back, but Hemby and Black graduate. Plenty of carries to go around in this offense
Yeah, I just threw that out before he was playing much but it wasn't really about Martin, just in general about having to feed egos a little, no matter how much Cig may hate that lol. When I see a kid with that talent not yet getting snaps I figured never know what they are thinking. Even Alberto sort of gave an ultimatum when his brother was being chased, of 'one year' .
Khobie is clearly in the mix now.
Once again, very impressive performance by Martin as a 3rd string back. yards per carry by this kid. I can't wait to see what he does when he's the primary. I bet he has some 200 yd games coming.
I love the ability he has shown to run the ball, but I want to see it when the defense isn’t “punched out”. I know the coaches aren’t blind and they see what we see, but there’s a reason he isn’t part of the primary rotation yet. I am sure as he fine tunes the details we may see him in more meaningful minutes later in the season. I’m also excited to see the future of Beebe and Martin next year. Hopefully we get a high impact flip there too and maybe at least one more from the portal depending on if both Beebe/Martin stay.
I always wonder how much is Cig protecting his roster from poaching attempts driving up bidding for some guys. Not much Im sure. Not sure that theres not a little. Cig knows the back door shit is already in full swing.
Cat is out of the bag on Martin. Poster on the reddit thread said how nice you guys can trot out a near NFL level back in mop up duty... LOL
@openwheel Can you expand on that one year from Alberto ultimatum? What’s that mean?
